You could debate which new iPhone or Samsung is better but there's no denying that iPhones simply age better regarding performance

That is why I can go now in a phone shop an... moreMy S6 lags, but no lag on my Note9 8/512GB it's as good or better than day 1, & I don't need to use a screen protector like it looks like I'll need to find & fix to the Corning GG Victus 2 screen on my S23U.
Also I still have all day (non gaming) battery life on my Note9, the X & XS battery will need replacing, I liked the XS Max but Apple was greedy with the price, these phones were the first to break through the €£1,000 barrier, I'm glad I chose my better & cheaper Note9 which still looks & functions like brand new.

Narazumono, 25 Feb 2023Androids are years behind iPhones in terms of speed
I exp... moreAmin to that.
That is why I can go now in a phone shop and buy an iPhone X or Xs and use it almost with zero lag. But I can't say the same about a Galaxy S9 or Note 9 for example.
And yes, I had all 4 phones in recent times.
Android phones bought second hand are good too, but only 1-2 years old ones.
True also, that price wise, iPhones are more expensive than Android phones (even in second hand market). For example, an iPhone X or XS cost double than a S9 or Note 9. So, there is always some compromise to be made.

Pretty pointless comparison, in many day to day tasks the S23 Ultra is much faster, it's held back by a handful of slow apps in this video..

I own a S23 and my mother the iPhone 14. Both are excellent devices and largely on par with each other. I had sour experiences with Apple devices and largely prefer Android while my mother loves the ease of iOS in her workplace.
Honestly the comparison is so close it really falls to personal preference. I frankly don't think you can go wrong with either, but if I were to choose again I may consider less pricey alternatives to Samsung in the Android space, mostly from emerging Chinese brands.
