Like 6 years ago, a Snapdragon 835 (2017) would still lose badly to an Apple A9 (2015) chip. This S23U vs. 14 PM was practically a dead-heat to me. For all we know, the robotic arm stuttered for a moment for the S23U to be slower by a fraction of a second.
Snapdragons are now on par to the latest A-chips, when back then, it felt like they were still 2-3 years behind. Snapdragons really started catching up last year with the *8+* Gen 1. The double the RAM is also helping it when we would see an iPhone 6S with 2 GBs still beat a Galaxy S8 handily with double.

seems that the robotic arm missed twice the home button (gesture) on the S23 ultra (second round) but on the iPhone it didn't (on purpose??), else you would have a different winner

ae86, 25 Feb 2023I dont think these comparisons matter anymore at this point... moreThe speed test is still fun, and also how do quantify which phone takes better notes?
I like to compare SoC efficiency because it affects speed, battery life, heating and long term use. Also, handling (weight, size to comfortably fit one hand) has been neglected in the past few years so that is interesting as well.

Pricing is total BS tho. In this comparison it shows like iPhone is actually the cheaper option. Meanwhile I paid 1300€ for S23 Ultra (12GB RAM, 512GB storage). Only iPhone I could find for this price was iPhone 14 Pro Max 6GB with 128GB storage. Comparable storage is 1750€ which is just absolutely absurd. I generally don't need much storage, but when you're paying this much you better get something and Apple doesn't even give you that lol.

I dont think these comparisons matter anymore at this point. both of course will load apps within seconds.
what comparisons we need is the implementations of softwares. like which offers better optimization in a said app. or does Samsung has auto cropping an object in the gallery which could be easily be copy/paste between photos or apps such as instagram. or which one is better for taking notes.

Another brand with 8g2 (xcept xiaomi) would have won by huge margin.
OneUI and MiUI cap performance of SoCs.

Maybe iOS 17 will manage to make phones faster like iOS 12, at least I hope.

Until iPhone 15 Pro comes out, then 15 Pro will win then S24 then 16 Pro and so on...
