Every time it needs charging. In actual fact, every battery powered device I own is used until it shuts-down (powers off) because the battery has completely drained (~0%), and need recharging, and I have been doing it for decades with no ill-effect...

The more interesting thing than the capacity, that most ppls misses here is if this would be meaningfully more clean to mass-produce compared to Li-Ion, or maybe the opposite, will it be even more polluting.

We need removable batte... moreBatteries are not removable, so that you cannot completely turn off your phone (no, using soft power off does not fully turn it off).
This is by design, so that you can tracked and be spied on everywhere.
That's why removable batteries won't be coming back anytime soon.

We don't need more density.
We need removable batteries so that I can replace them when necessary and carry around two extra batteries in case I need to swap them on the go.

Not worth the tradeoffs in battery charge cycles. Running them in that voltage region is more damaging. How often do you let your phone dip below 12%?

Looks like this will be a competitor to GAN. However, if it's liquid based like current lithium batteries, I don't think it'll be any different even if increased capacity. Still would like to see where this goes.

12% is a massive gain some people don't even get 5% pay increase in 10 years
