27 February 2023
It's got an OLED display and an Apple-made 5G baseband chip.

Classic Apple getting rid of an actual good design again like they did with the new iPad with no headphone jack despite having PLENTY of room. Gotta save money by reusing the old iPhone housings.

WTF? Hell no! They are getting rid of the best iPhone device design with a proper screen that had no round corners or notches on it? Give me home button! Abolish the garbage swipe gesture bar that shows up in screenshots and recordings that you can't hide or get rid of!

I bet anything this isn't true. A device like this for 400-450$ would eat the entire iPhone marketshare. Apple will not do this.

I think they overstock the iPhone 14s and now nobody is buying them😅
        So the new iphone se

This is a great news for users. But these lineups might be the experimental rats for these brands.
Samsung FE lineup was supposed to be dead, now coming back with the “EXYNOS” chip.
iPhone SE lineup is also the same case with the in house modem.
Pixel A lineups were beta testing phones anyway😅

There is no point in making it as big as other iPhone. Anyone can just get a 12, 13 or 14. What sets the SE apart is the size

They can base it off 12 mini which will actually be an upgrade for the SE line-up and also retain the small form which the SE known for

Pls make the screen bellow 6 inch
              :)

I figured it wasn't really gone ain't no way

If true, then that's it for the Mini line, which there were hopes would be resurrected as a future SE. The mini is the only phone Apple makes that I'm interested in; I got one after a series of Samsungs (which were getting too large for my taste) but it looks like I'm headed back to Samsung when it's time to get a new phone. If I have to get a phone in the 6"+ range, it will be an Android.

A desiccated Apple is still useful 🙂.

rumors says that it will still have a lightning port and it will be US exclusive for all the users that dont want to change to USB-C and still get the "original apple experience", if it's true it will sell like crazy due to the damn cult this company has

now it's down to the pricing...

Well... This is an interesting development. Perhaps they had just canned the XR based SE and hence the confusing leaks?

Anyway, I actually thought that if they didn't use the XR's chassis they'd use the 13 mini's chassis, so I'm surprised they are actually going with the 14's.

                            Should be :

                            - 8 Plus body
                            - 4400mAh
                            - usb c 3.1
                            - A16 + 4GB + 128/256GB
                            - imx803 (24mm) + imx363 (52mm)
                            - gorilla victus 2 both sides

                            $650 is fair

Apple should give us another SE the size of the 13 mini but with rounded sides and I would gladly purchase it over the 13 mini which should have a 5 to 6-year-old SoC by the time this SE 5 is released in 2026 or so.

                              2016: SE 1, A9
                              2020: SE 2, A13
                              2022: SE 3, A15
                              2024?: SE 4, A17 (although production starts early 2024?)
2026?: SE 5, A19 (with the size of the 13 mini, please?)

I personally don't care any more because I'm planning to get the Motorola Rizr if Lenovo decides to ever release a concept like that. That rollable concept design made all current phones which includes foldables, Surface Duos, and LG Wing look old and boring.

If this Motorola Rizr is ever released, it's the most exciting smartphone release since the original iPhone. Forget the HTC One M7, Fold, Flip, Razr, or Duo. Forget the Xperia Play, Nokia N9, or Yotaphone. Forget all that. This Rizr looks like a smartphone 10 years into the future. Boring slabs and foldables look ancient by comparison like a rotary phone.

                                Actualy SE is dead.
                                Only ultra sells best.
Small models dont eells much thus they are obsolette.
Small models have nothing worth the price.
Apart being expensive they are not that great.

rip home button with fingerprint scanner 🫤

no... facetime is not better if your phone mostly lays flat on the desk and you want to quickly glance on it without picking it up (thus facing it)...

Even se line of iPhone have notch screen now
Apple iPhone are getting so ugly

Hole punch notched screens along extra ways mess up the screen

Good screens are rare breed there days

Another iPhone where the designer show how little they understand about good design

If I wanted the size of the iPhone 14, I would get the 14. SMH. The iPhone SE 2022 won't be the final SE by name but will be the last of its kind...

                                      Sim tray
138 mm in height instead of 146 mm
                                      Under 150 grams
                                      Home button/Touch ID
Rounded sides which I prefer with case
                                      LCD which has better longevity
Cheaper to fix and easier to replace battery

                                      iPhone 14: 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm, 174 g
                                      iPhone SE3: 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm, 144 g
                                      iPhone 13 mini: 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.7 mm, 141 g

Apple needs to give us another iPhone design with rounded sides like the 2G/6/6S/7/8/X/XS/11/SE2/SE3 were. I know some don't like it because it's slippery like a bar of soap but many of us put it in a case. They're grippier and feel much better in the hand than the flat sides.

I remember owning the 12 mini and it felt too angular like my Essential Phone. The 4S and SE1 have the flat sides but they were narrower which meant they didn't dig into the palm of my hands. Never liked the S7 edge in comfort like my OG Pixel 1 which were rounded and shorter.

I much prefer rounded sides coming from my Nexus One, Xiaomi Mi 3, LG G5, Pixel 3, iPhone 7/X/SE3, and Z Flip 3. They all feel great in my hand. My Razr 5G is way more sharper and it can get annoying holding it after a while .
