The iPhone SE isn't dead anymore, to be resurrected as iPhone 14 clone for next year

27 February 2023
It's got an OLED display and an Apple-made 5G baseband chip.

Every year when a new iPhone comes out, they drop the price of the old base model by $100 and sell it alongside the new ones. Considering that the iPhone 14 starts at $799 and this SE will just be a 14 with USB C the starting price should be $699.

Wish it would come in the 13 Mini body. SE was the last truly small phone, now it's gonna just become another 6 incher...

This is so weird, they could've gone with the 13 mini's chassis - have a different size, plus with the gimped battery, the SE was small anyway so a good upgrade for SE owners. Cheaper to manufacture too.

Ricky, 28 Feb 2023Why is Apple still using low refresh rate screens in 2023? ... moreLet me guess the rest of the specs

          - Snapdragon 695 (1080p@30fps video recording 👍👍)
          - Samsung JN1
          - 8 MP ultrawide if you are lucky
          - IP 52 at most

          yeah, not really comparable

Blue, 28 Feb 2023Because a) nobody cares b) lower power consumption c) Ap... morea) People care because you often see them asking that question, sure masses might care less but that's because they know nothing about tech, if they did they probably would care too

            b) 120Hz doesn't hurt battery life much, especially not on iPhones

            c) Spec hunting or not, no amount of optimasion can compastae for 120Hz display, unlike other stuff like cameras for example

Eh I knew it was too good to be true anyway....

Now this, this is something I can get behind for a "cheap" iPhone, sure it will probably still have 60hz display, but if it's like 400-450 dollars, then it's fine if it actually has latest Bionic chip and cameras, since it's bound to have 5 years of updates, while majority of phones in that price segment are lucky to get 3.

Sad, the current SE feels great because of the size and rounded design. This is also the last iPhone with
                  - TouchID
                  - Home Button
                  - LCD
                  - 16:9 display without notch
                  - Camera bump small enough that the official cases don’t need an extra protective ring around the camera, meaning it will lay flat on a table

It would not be good to leave the people who value all of these things without a replacement. I‘d prefer them to release 2 SE‘s, one in the current (old) style, and one in the new notch style.

Ok. But how much will it cost if we suppose that it'll have the same iPhone 14 chip? I don't imagine it'll have the regular iPhone SE pricing. It'll be closer to the regular new iPhone. And would that make sense? Also it's supposed to be a trial model? Yeah. That'll work.

You ever notice that it’s become impossible to get everything when it comes to Apple. You always have to settle....

Why is Apple still using low refresh rate screens in 2023? Os it really that much more money to use a pro motion display. I just purchased a $300 Android with 120hz refresh rate....

                                        Why not LCD ?????

Some people can't bear flickering from OLED.

                                        Where should we go ?
