Anonymous, 28 Feb 2023why is too much? now you sound like few years back...ow...... moreThis, if they can make such technology safe and with little to no drawbacks, why not use it.

Do people need stuff like supercars or hypercars? Or GPUs like RTX 4090? Almost always no, but having so much of something at your fingertips is always cool and makes stuff just tiny bit easier.

David 040882, 28 Feb 2023Ridiculous and unnecessary People don't see it but this is a marketing stunt and excellent selling strategy. Of course phone can charge that fast, but that fast charging will always be turned off by default because it DOES harm the battery. BUT, user will enable it anyway because the user doesn't care about battery health. In a year, battery will degrade a lot (more than it would with normal, slow charging) and that will prompt users to replace the phone. User might be unhappy because the device didn't last as long as its previous, but it's a win-win for Xiaomi who made money over and over again.

If I cannot turn off fast charging completely, I charge phone via USB slowly on PC through the night. That way you'll get the max out the battery. My 4 year phone still holds a single day of moderate use otherwise it would barely last half a day or less.

Cyberchum, 28 Feb 2023Really? I bet that, to you, 1000W will be necessary still, ... moreI dont think you know what white elephant means. White elephant is something that is useless and drain the owner financially. For 300W, users are not forced to get it nor does it become useless because there are people who need less down time while on the go.

UltraHD, 28 Feb 2023Unnecessary, if you can't live without your phone for ... moreJust because it's unnecessary doesn't mean it's not cool, not to mention one day if we reach a point where such technology would have little to no drawbacks, why not use it?

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2023why is too much? now you sound like few years back...ow...... moreBut at what cost?
At the cost of battery longevity and degradation.
The more ram doesn't come at a cost of any demerits other than being more expensive , which is obvious

batteries and capacitors are very similar tech. Into the near future, the smartphones will use new and improved capacitors as batteries and the charge will last for a few seconds

Unnecessary, if you can't live without your phone for 5 minutes then you've a serious issue. I'm more than happy with 67w, totally enough.

Really? I bet that, to you, 1000W will be necessary still, since it's ALWAYS necessary. Yes, so you could hit that 100% in a minute and half. 🤡

This is madness! White elephant of smartphones.
