Foldables are too thick, lacks protection against scratches, and more expensive to repair, at least today.
If their objective is to eventually replace the laptop, phone, and tablets altogether and combine these into a foldable, they should start shipping foldables with a desktop-like environment mode. The Android OS limits the potential of what a large foldable phone can do today.

And regarding form factors, only Motorola, that one Oppo China only model and Z Flip 4 make sense. Others are ridiculous.

Foldables are great and innovative, but I don't have the budget for them. At my $200-$400 budget, no foldables exist and if there was one that did exist it would have far worse other specs for the price. Maybe one day I'll get a foldable when my budget increases.

I wouldn't mind them if they didn't limit so much. How does the Fold series NOT have an S-Pen slot? How do none of them have headphone jacks? Why are their battery lives terrible? (I mean, I get it. They're supposed to be slim to not be so heavy but we really don't have better battery tech still?)
Not good enough for me to drop so much for one. Then again, living in the US, we only have the Fold/Flip, RAZR, and soon-to-be OnePlus and Pixel Fold but I have no hope for the latter two.

A small tablet with a good camera/GPS/Phone capability would be pretty nice for my use case.

Funny to see people debate and be critical with foldables, I have used mine since early 2021 and it's great, in fact I wouldn't consider not buying a foldable. It obviously amazing but if you're poor or clumsy and break your stuff all the time, of course you can't handle one.

Foldables will remain niche. People have illogical expectation that glass can be folded. There will never be a foldable as durable as a slab form factor. All you ever have is compromises. You want folding screen, prepare to replace it every 1 or 2 years for the broken screen. Companies will gladly take your money.
Not saying it's not useful. Having access to larger screen while footprint can be less in pocket is a good thing. But personally, the price has to come down a lot to justify the constant replacement every year or 2, unless they provide free screen replacement guarantee.

I`m using Fold 4 and willing to trade it in for Fold 5 if it`ll have a wider cover screen to make typing easier. I won`t go for other brands simply due to the better software of the samsung`s for the foldables, and also for that promised 4 years of android updates. Not to mention the s-pen which I use quite a lot

Flip if anything. Smaller in the pocket while out hiking. But if it was possible in my country, I would prefer just a smart watch. Sadly only apple is supported by watch e-sim here. Or pay the double as from my current provider, to use Samsungs newest with the crap fragile screen.

Waiting for some Triple foldable. IT woud be burn anything away! A normal sized Phone in a Pocket tranzform into an 10 Inch Full size Tablet If you want top. Thats the real Future Phone!!

We've seen parts of the mobile phone moved, minimized and eliminated to make way for bigger screens. Keyboards were hidden away and eventually eliminated. We've seen phones pushed to bigger sizes just to accommodate a larger screen. As phones became too big, bezels were slimmed down almost to the point of elimination.
We've seen front facing cameras get smaller, pushed further into the bezel, placed at the bottom to eliminate the top bezel, embedded into a teardrop notch/bezel, placed in a punch hole, placed in a mechanism that pops up or flips out and placed under the panel. All of this was done in the pursuit of maximizing screen real estate.
Whether you buy in is your preference, but nothing has changed. Foldables are continuing a trend we've seen for the past 15 to 20 years.

3 way phone unfold into tablet, with thickness for 1" and 15x tele cameras.
Just what happened to innovation, we should be on 20x already, folding everyday.
Huawei could do the folds right in matex and matex2.
Feels like we live in the past already, folds were better years back.
