Anonymous, 13 Mar 2023It's ironic to keep seeing bootloop issues on this pho... moreYou're confused; that Android glitch only exacerbated a hardware problem that the LG models impacted by the bootloop issue had, which forced LG to actually replace the motherboards of those models under warranty. Suggesting that everyone is unfairly piling on LG while letting others, like Huawei, get away with the same issue doesn't make much sense since there's no reason to single LG out; customers just want phones that work, whether they are manufactured by LG, Huawei or anyone else.

The article didn't mention perhaps the main thing that did LG in which was the bootloop. While it wasn't as prevalent on the LG G5 as it was on the G3 and, especially, the G4, the bad reputation the company had from the latter two generation spelled doom as LG couldn't shake it until they eventually folded. I did but the LG G4 when it came out but, once I heard about the bootloop issue, I sold it before it developed it (which seemed inevitable) and switched to Samsung never to look back again.

That is why it had those 2 metal pins on the side. To recharge and keep usb only to data transfer.
You can see z4/z5 lack those pins. Capless usb came debuted with m4 (2015)

I loved my G5. The last phone I had with a removable battery. It treated me very well until I dropped it in the toilet one day

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2023Sony phones are IP68 since 2014, with z3 series. Not lower ... moreNot really.
My Sony Z3c died from water damage, and I didn't even do anything to it. It merely got wet in the rain, and Sony refused to fix it or replace it. Thanks to my country, they were forced to actually refund the money to me. Shortly later, Sony themselves got sued and had to pay a fine. They no longer sell phones here, despite fixing the issue.
The problem was, there were a lot of inconsistencies in their QA in those earlier days. The phones they used to IP-Certification were those that were built well. A lot of Sony phones went into mainstream market and they had panel gaps.
The Samsung S5 was a similar deal. It was advertised as IP67 but it was more like an IP65 protection. A lot of dead phones, and a tiny fine-print that said Samsung wouldn't honour water-damaged devices under warranty. They too paid a fine. With the Samsung S6 it actually had IP66-IP67 protection, but Samsung didn't advertise it, and kept the certification to themselves. With the Samsung S7 they finally were confident with their assembly team and manufacturing, no panel gaps, they had it certified and advertised it with IP67 protection. Apple followed them the year after.

Minu, 13 Mar 2023S6's UI is definitely the best Samsung had so far. Onl... moreWith the S6 Samsung really toned down Touchwhiz such as removing the ability to put the camera in pop up view and turn off quick charging. The ability to turn off quick charge returned in Android Marshmallow but the ability to put the camera in pop up view didn't return until Nougat.

In fact, the Oreo update bootloop got so bad that Google even went as far as refunding owners of that phone. Even with the Nexus has been replaced by the Pixel, the hardware issue is still going on. 🤦

Long software support a... moreDon't expect people to buy wireless earbuds when it produce more e-waste than necessary and also sounds crap. Furthermore, using adapter only makes the USB-C port wears out faster.
As for the XCover6 Pro you mentioned, it's not available for the general public. Only SME customers can have it.
