We are not sure whether the name will be Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or will skip to Gen 2.

So they are announcing the successor but a lot of phones don't even have the last one when they should?

SD 888 and SD 8 Gen 1 (non-Plus) were not supposed to be terrible SoCs if they were just fabricated from TSMC's labs instead of Samsung's.

Well facts are better than rumors. We'll learn soon enough.

I still think Sd 895 is better idea.

For midrange X2 is not even needed, doesnt offer x3 like perfomance and use way more power. 2xA715+2xA710 would make more sense and use A710 when needed.

You cant blame them because they didnt use A710 based soc which use more power and need more cost to cool them. Why downgrade?

Hemedans, 10 Mar 2023Why A710? Another throttling mess is coming. This is essentially underclocked SD8+ Gen 1. A710 has 32-bit compatibility, so...

Hemedans, 10 Mar 2023Why A710? Another throttling mess is coming. Last year SoC throttling issue is not because of cortex a710, this is because of samsung fab.

All cortex x1, cortex a710, etc are good for in that year chipset but how it made possible with better performance and efficiently was important.

Considering the fail of the 7 Gen 1, I won't be surprise to see an all new 7 Gen 2.

at least..a proper midrange cpu from Qualcomm with latest gpu even sd 8 gen 1 crap compared to this chip

If the core specs are true and it's fabbed by tsmc then it will beat the 8 gen 1 too 😂😂🤣

Why A710? Another throttling mess is coming.

Its gonna be the most massive jump ever in midrange processors, if the leaks are true, its just a little brother of sd 8+g1
