Either phones like X.13 Lite (with that "island" on top ;) sucks then. RN 12 Pro with D1080, big screen, charging, jack etc. won't be that pricey (it's Redmi and MTK chip) so that will be relatively competitive offer for its specs. Nice specs on a paper, the question is MIUI reliability, bugs etc. :( Samsung is a whole different story. It comes with Android12 and Xiaomi seems to be already slow to release that phones even. ("global")

If you live in Europe what would you choose? Xiaomi 13 Lite costs same or in other countries more than Galaxy A54, Redmi Note 12 series will be around the same price and be even worse price competitive than 13 Lite. vivo V27 series isn't avaible here yet. Oppo and realme aren't in many markets. They even packed their bags and ran from the Czech Republic, than mean no realme 10 series (and 9 Pro+ costs same as Galaxy A53). And OnePlus Nord 3 will be at least the same price as Xiaomi 13 Lite or Galaxy A54. So you don't have many choices. Or I forgot you can get iPhone SE 2022 for the same price. And it looks like Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is weaker than Exynos 1380. Or did Xiaomi as almost always fucked their optimization?

Because the only reason i dont buy Galaxy a54 is my Galaxy a51 runs Android 13/One UI 5.

Both are terribly priced and are a mere cash grab from Samsung.
It even makes Xperia midrangers look good in comparison in certain areas, like having actually useful cameras instead of 2 MP crappy ones

That is why I still highly rate the 2020 LG Velvet 5G as my top favourite non-flagship smartphone up to this day. That phone proved you can still have a powerful pocket computer with a lower-tier SoC. While I don't own the Velvet 5G, I own the Wing 5G that uses the same Snapdragon 765G SoC together, and I have no trouble using a full-on Ubuntu desktop OS and running Linux desktop software through Andronix via Screen+ Desktop Mode. Most people don't need overkill Snapdragon 8 series SoC. Some are still more than content with Snapdragon 690 and 695.
