For example, in Czechia, an S22 Ultra (8Gb/128Gb variant) is now 950EUR new. There are not plenty left around, but if you find one, is not very bad price. And if you are ok with second hand phones, you can get the same S22 Ultra model (in quality A, with 1 year warranty), for as little as 740EUR. Not bad for a premium phone with 3 years left of software updates and 4 years of security ones.

Anonymous, 18 Mar 2023Using A52. Very happy that bought Samsung instead of others... moreSo you're gonna get "angry" and "punish" them by buying the even more expensive models? That logic itself is the reason why we are angry at the first place. When buyers have no critical thinking and no will to punish the manufacturers for their arrogant behavior, we get less and less attractive models at higher and higher prices.

blue, 19 Mar 2023A new S23 won't cost €500 in a year...It'll drop to around 900-1000€. It was similar with S22 Ultra. And while S23 Ultra has a bit better reception, I don't think that will affect prices hugely over time.

Both the A54 and A34 should have had a headphone jack. This would have given people a reason to buy it. Samsung shot themselves in the foot by removing it.

Almost bought the a54 but when I held it... it looks and feels thicker than 8.2mm. And those bezels omg look a lot worse in person. And why would the screen-to-body ratio be worse than the a53? Things should progress and not regress right? I really don't mind the Exynos cause I'm a casual user but those things turned me off.

You can go even for something like S22/S22+ models from last year. True, they are not the newest and greatest phones any more, but still very good for the majority of people. Also, you get 3 years of support (from the initial 4 years).

I don't understand why people say they increased the prices so much? That's something like 10% increase. Even the inflation is around 18% in my country, so people should think also about the situation around the World right now.
Is not good, of course, but it is what it is.
You are not obliged to buy new phone every year. Also, you can go with last year models too. Where I live, you can find an A53 around 320EUR (base model). And you can still find it as new. Maybe for another 1-2 months, until the stock finish.

I will wait for reviews and maybe a price drop (which will definitely come).
I think, price increased aside, these will be good all around mid-rangers this year.
Sadly, Samsung doesn't have anything between this A54 and the S23 for example. Yes, you have the S21FE, but in my country it's available only the SD888 version. And this version is bad, because of the SD888 chipset overheating problems and battery problems.
Of course, you got also the S22/S22+ models from last year (around the 500-600EUR mark), but those are not new phones.
I wish Samsung will release an S23FE model or at least some A74 model. I think these will be closer to the S series (in terms of specs and features). As of now, the Galaxy A54 feels a little far from the S23. It feels like something is missing in the Samsung line-up.

Earlier testing shows Dimensity 1080 of A34 being more powerful than this Exynos 1380.
Samsung probably will never release a phone like A52s again, that phone was like a limited edition it seems, luckily I could get one.

Phantom Ensemble, 19 Mar 2023Why assume that Exynos 1380 is bad when it's barely ju... moreSnapdragon 778G used on 2 gen old A52s can run Call of Duty on all maxed out settings at stable 60fps, A53 with Exynos 1280 the game doesn't even give the option of high graphics, 778G can even emulate PS2 and Wii games fluidly, this Exynos 1380 uses literally the same GPU from Exynos 1280, so it will be same crap as far as graphics performance go, it will be the same, no need for reviews to come to this conclusion, it's a "new" Chipset, with same GPU, can't do miracles with same GPU, it will stay graphically underpowered, which is inexcusable in a 500 dollar device.

My country only got the Exynos SoC for the S21 FE, but I definitely take it over the A54. Not only it has better camera hardware, but it also got USB-C 3.1 and wired video output for DeX, and I always love such a feature.

The A54 looks older than the A51 from 2019. Samsung is joking with us or what?
