as much as I support the Indian government on their programs to deter China.
they're doing it wrong. the Indian Mobile Industry has a huge potential. might as well tap in to that seriously. instead on clamping down these chinese brands which will soon leave consumers with crappy indian brands.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023Remove them. Install them if you want. That is all. Very di... moreNot all of them can be removed. There's no way to uninstall Google search and chrome for example. You can only disable them.
Also, even if you're allowed to remove some Google apps, Google reinstalls them behind your back. But all of these are considered legal and no government takes any action against it.

Google drive is definitely a bloatware which is pushed on users. We don't need Google drive, we need microSD card. We'll be in charge of our own data, who does Google they are? Google is the biggest thief of data that exists today and law is designed protect this thief and others thieves such as apple.

Google steals more data than any Chinese app but it's one of the legalized crimes in today's world.

Well it is a good move. You see in Mi phones for example, the clock requires permission to manage calls!! Many unnecessary apps like compass, qr scode scanner etc., are pre installed. And if you look closely the security app requires to accept a notice showing that data be collected to work . Kika keyboard too Downloads app also has in built access to certain permissions which we cannot revoke. these apps cannot be uninstalled or some even cannot be disabled too. Im sure brands like Vivo, Oppo , Realme etc., also has same scenario.

It's common in phones with custom Android where the manufacturer has it's OS heavily tweaked. Some ask for a permission before they get installed and some happen automatically

Amit05, 15 Mar 2023Man it makes me wonder if these are real people in the comm... moreExactly lol. Drive is like, one of most important google apps, so is files and duo, chrome etc. Uninstalling them is totally unnecessary. It's the 3rd party social or unwanted apps that chinese phone have and those are the ones causing bloat. Idk why they want Google search and their apps to be removed. Who will ever remove those. Moreover, they don't even have a proper replacement for those apps yet

Hah..Industry insiders argued that some apps are critical to the user experience and have to be pre-installed, such as the Camera app. ...Just make a law if any app is uninstallable without trace after the phone is purchased, the ceo will be jailed within 24 hours without bail.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023They literally install Google apps in background without us... moreBecause trash features like these are implemented by the phone manufacturer, not Google. I have had Nokia and Samsung phones. Not one of them has had these kind of auto-installer setups. I think you should understand first before speaking random stuff.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023You'd be out of your mind to say that duo and drive ar... moreI think its pretty sane to say both are bs . Duo never works unless u have speed of 3mbps min . And google drive basically a spyware .google always scans your photos (happened in us child abuse case) like dialy . If they do that in educated countries like usa I'm sure they do that everywhere . Especially in our country where the govt can't even maintain govt websites

HopeFilledIdiot, 15 Mar 2023India literally just passed a law stating that all Android ... moreNo manufacturer don't have to include google apps. AOSP is not googled. Google enters the game when manufacturer go with google play services. You can definitely choose to avoid that entirely. Just like honor& huawei used to do (still does?) . Other than the fact that the huawei service was more questionable and could prove to be even more of a bloatware AND spyware.. but they proved It's possible without breaking any rules
Truth is none of the manufacturers ( neither does the govt *coughs* 18% t🤑x )care about the longevity of the product or privacy of the consumer... and they definitely don't want to spend so much in R&D to make a replacement for google play service. 2. Google pays everyone to keep their apps in their custom os
Despite how much i hate this govt, imo this is a good move. But they need to be fair to every company . You cannot tell xiaomi or bbk to remove their app but allow google to force YTmusic down everyone's throat or the vice versa . If this govt really wanted to be free of china , import wouldn't be increasing .. they just push these bs errand every now and then to stop us being suspicious of what is actually going on ...

If you need an app you install it yourself. Basics should be standard. Although merely uninstalling an app doesn't fully remove it since if you reset your phone, the same app will be there as it's part of the stock firmware package.
Still can't comprehend why calculator was removed from the galaxy note 9
