Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023Why no clampdown on Google bloatware such as drive, news, T... moreThose apps aren't bloat. Just because you don't require them doesn't mean no one else does. Drive is important to me, duo might be for those making video calls

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023None is asking to remove Google completely. We're not ... moreYou can already uninstall some of those? Movies and TV, Duo, news and home.
Don't know what drive means - do you mean android auto? Yeah that can only be disabled.

Again, those apps are useless to us, but Google requires that they be used. They've been pushing their apps for quite some time - Like Google Files instead of an OEM's File Manager. But since it's the platform makers requirement, I'm not sure if they're even open to any requests. It is what it is

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023They literally install Google apps in background without us... moreYeah, they should all be treated equally. People must have the freedom to choose which apps they are going to use when they setup their phones. The phone must be a blank canvass upon setup and you will be provided choices of which to download and be part of your ecosystem. Enough is enough.

I've seen Google apps being installed automatically under "setup" in notification. Even if you uninstall them, one day they'll install those again automatically without your knowledge. Why is there no clampdown against this??

We're not asking to remove basic Google things needed to perform basic tasks. But things like duo, tv, drive, news, home etc etc are useless apps to most people and are bloatware.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023Google apps can and should come pre-installed and that'... moreI don't mind the preinstalled apps as long as they can be removed completely. My Sony Xperia 5 II came with Facebook and its trackers literally grown into the phone like a tumor and you simply cannot remove it, just hide it.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023Why no clampdown on Google bloatware such as drive, news, T... moreIndia literally just passed a law stating that all Android phones sold in the near future should give the consumer an option on first setup as to whether or not they want google to be the default search engine iirc? So they not being selective

Besides that, removing Google from Android is not as easy as it seems. It's not an Indian govt thing but rather AOSP as a whole. If I'm not wrong, for any Android device to be sold on official channels, they need to include the entire GMS Suite - that's one of Google's requirements for Android OEMs

Currently, manufacturers from China occupy the major share of the smartphone market. Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo account for 47% of all sales, while Samsung sits at 20% and Apple at just 3%.

                  Correction - It's 70% and not 47%.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023Should make a minimum of 2 year warranty mandatory. The blo... moreLooking back at how some Samsung phones developed:
                              1) motherboard issues (A51, M21, M31 dead motherboard),
                              2) build quality issues (A52, A72 back cover peeling),
                              3) display issues (green and pink lines appearing on S20 and Note 20 series)

right after their 1 year warranty ended, making 2 year warranty would actually negatively affect Samsung as well.

Their should "not" be an option to uninstall..
BUT, these chinese bloatware should never be allowed to be preloaded on smartphones as majority of innocent consumers never care about these bloatwares present on their phone and such Chin€se bloatware do data collection and spying.

Some manufacturers even go to such an extent that they track users location using the pre-installed camera apps that they have loaded to the OS using the location permission

On my OnePlus, there is a custom dialer, messages, gallery and files apps that actually work better than Google's apps. And then there are a few apps that the user will require anyways so they just come pre-installed. And it's better that they remain as system apps.
As for the other bloat apps, those can already have option to be deleted. Idk what's all the fuss about. So they want the phone and messages apps to have option to delete ? Who will ever do that. Imagine deleting a refined, polished app

Google apps can and should come pre-installed and that's fine. It's the trash like Tiktok, FB and shopping site apps that should be gotten rid of. Chinese phones have that bloat out of the box
