I really hope Google ditches the Exynos modem in future Pixel phones. It has been widely reported that the Pixel 6 and 7 series phones have the worst signal reception of any phone people have ever had. Who cares how fast the Exynos modem technically can be, if they have terrible reception (which will mean most of the time performing no where near their theoretical maximum). Please just use Qualcomm modems, which are the best on the market (even Apple modems are crap compared to Qualcomm).

5300, 27 Mar 2023Is this new? Pixel 7 line is using Exynos 5300 modem already.I was under the impression that was the case, too. Many websites reported Pixel 7 got an upgraded modem compared to Pixel 6 series. Unless I'm mistaken there isn't another version between Exynos 5123 and 5300

Pretty sure this is going to be another trashy stuff from Samsung, the one on A53 chug power when on mobile data and not to mention the vulnerabilities they refused to patch passed 90 days after being notified and now called out for.

Exynos is trash, as an A53 user I can confirm this, daily drive this thing for more than a year, it's still full of bugs (especially the glitching multi-touch input with two fingers)

The specs link shows just 200mhz of sub 6 for aggregated downlink bandwidth. That's QC x60 status. The uplink shows 400mhz, maybe they transposed those numbers?

I wouldnt see a point for it for performance wise vs power consumption unless its more for Foldable multitasking set up (used more like a pc than phone). Possibly other reasons why they would but i cant think of any atm.

So we can sue Samsung, when our download can't even reach 1Gbps in download, because of the antennas here?

This is useless, because the providers antennas can't deliver faster than what 4G+ could.
