Sony is reportedly developing a new PlayStation handheld

    Why not just use an app like microsoft does... also app is basically free and works on any phone.
    This is like releasing phone with a case, but is there a reason why not use just available phones?

Not like a Steam Deck (even though it seems like people can’t stop talking about that), but like a Wii U gamepad. Also, 720p pentile on an 8 inch screen would make for a horribly low subpixel resolution. At that size, 1080p LCD is preferable any day.

                b) LCD is not an eyesore, what are you talking. Quality LCDs (good black uniformity and wide color gamut, like iPhone 7 and newer) look great

                This is probably more for casual playing. Nobody would play latency-sensitive shooters over a wirelessly connected display. And for the mentioned use, the specs are totally fine. You wouldn’t want a controller that costs almost as much as the console itself.

                                    I would love if it was a standalone handheld instead of a remote play add-on.

                                    The PSP and the PSVita may not have been the winners of their respective generations, but it was competition for Nintendo.

                                    Also better be cheap then for a streaming/remote only device. Stadia worked on any device also Xbox Game Pass, both can work with one device + controller.

                                    But Sony and their prices on the divices are a hit or miss.

                                        It looks like a cloud service but in a form of an actual device. What's the point of this? Just use the actual cloud service. This might be the stupidest release of Sony ever
