Chinese prices are after-tax. Damn, I hope here in the states we don't need to add a hefty premium to all expensive purchases.

They are launching it in China on 18 April. I hope the design is not as ugly as 12 Ultra.
Prices are going up, someday, they will be close to Apple. I wonder why people should buy Xiaomi, then. Even in China, Xiaomi is not considered top-class. People choose apple, Huawei, then Xiaomi. (as per my understanding)

Times are bad, software and security update are now my main criteria, 3 yrs vs samsung 5 years, i will take Samsung as cant afford to change phone every 2 years, even than cant resell a phone which will quit security update in 3 years. (balance 1 year).

And also complained about GoS, I'm not a blind fan ... I wouldn't have bought the S23U if the pre order deal wasn't so 'attractive' considering the sale price 🌱

Xiaomi has lost a lot in this and I'm not okay wit pouring 1500+ on a 2 years software update device. Great if it's more, but RN MIUI isn't the best, and was amongst best in the past 🙊

Was expecting a ceramic back like my Mi 11 Ultra. Leather back is not durable and it's difficult to remove stains. Also was expecting a different design which was totally different from 12S Ultra. Little disappointed.

Looking forward to seeing if there are many differences between the new imx990 sensor and the imx989. Also will be interesting to see if the rumored variable aperture on the main camera is true

You only care if the brand is famous, not if it offers great phones. Look at Nokia. It is very famous, right? Yet look what crap they release. Xiaomi is really stepping up their game and I would gladly choose a Xiaomi over a Samsung. If you don't like the beand, that's fine, but that doesn't mean that the brand is crap.
