It's Chinese brand, but Xiaomi has reputation of being one of more reliable and reputable among Chinese brands. Main issue with Xiaomi is how it's spelled outside China. Samsung is spelled the same everywhere, where Xiaomi is spelled entirely differently for rest of the world and it's not a easy word to say the way it's meant to be said in Chinese.

      The word "xiaomi" sounds like a unheard mediocre local random brand. I prefer phone with popular brand like Samsung. The word "Samsung" sounds cool and prestige.

          Lexus is japanese brand, while xiaomi is from china. Everyone know any china brand is not a premium brand. In fact, xiaomi is just another random mediocre brand.

                Yup, that's why people stops buying Xiaomi. Many people bought Xiaomi as their first maybe second phone, thinking it's a good deal. But after that, and once they can afford more, they stop buying Xiaomi.

                  Again, the market speaks for itself. Any statistic you check for premium phones, the top selling ones are iPhones, and then maybe Samsung. Nobody will want to pay $1000 for a Xiaomi, plain and simple, and it's a fact.

There are definitely advertisements built into system apps on all Xiaomi flagships in the Chinese versions at least. They can be disabled though by changing some of the settings. The easiest way is to just bring the phone to a 'Xiaomi home' store and ask them to turn off the advertisements. Basically, though all Chinese brands have ads in the Chinese versions of their phones except for ZTE/Nubia and Motorola. All the others have built in ads so it's nothing unique to Xiaomi

There ar... moreYes, no ads in some regions and yours aswell, not all regions shared the same thing, for example brand A is cheap in south/south east asia, but expensive in europe, dont generalize the conditions/spec/price or whatever at the same value.

                                      My Poco X4 Pro received A12 update in November. A14 is coming out soon I guess I will be getting A13 update few months after A14 is released. Definitely not going to buy any Xiaomi phone again.

                                        But that is the price in Mainland China. How much would it cost outside China when counting in the shipping and tax customs? That is a whole different story altogether.
