As much as I wanted one the lack of vzw support and sd slot always had me on edge. Removing the quad dac and continuing to keep an insane price with little upgrades makes it a no go.
If they brought the quad dac back I might consider it.

    The last Asus phone I liked was the Zenfone 6Z (aka Asus 6Z) still have this phone and it feels unique not a gamer anymore although I used to be one few years ago…

        1080p? Not everyone needs a 2k display. I also use a 2k display phone and i can hardly find any difference between 1080 and 2k
        IP54? The phone literally has a mechanism to directly throw cool air into the phone so of course it's not IP67.
        Micro SD? Which phones are even giving that now?

        Considering this phone is not made for camera enthusiasts, I think what it offers is better than many other companies. Although I do agree that the price could have been a lil lower but other than that, it offer everything to even use as a daily driver

          I can buy two RM8 Pros with the price of one ROG 7 phone lol

            Terrible cameras
            Only IP54
            Only 1080p display
            Still using a 2 year old display
            No microSD
            Only old GG3 on the back
            Costs €1,400

            These are DOA and you all know it. "But they're gaming phones"
            Any phone with a flagship SOC is a gaming phone

              The ROG 7 is a cool phone for gamers and I was considering buying but:

              There aren't a lot of games to utilise the full potential of this phone and it's gaming centric features

              The only mobile game I played i.e PUBG was banned here years ago. Other mobile games are boring and far away in quality, features and graphics compared to console titles

              Developers won't port their older titles to mobile, so that they can be played again example NFS or GTA that hasn't seen a release since San Andreas

              All in all, if mobile games continue to remain childish and boring then I doubt anyone would be interested in buying a dedicated phone for gaming such as this. Without good games, a gaming phone is unnecessary
