I recently bought the Aria SE and I wanna know which setting provides the intended/better tuning/response!
Since my phone (X7 Max) has "Dolby Atmos" and different settings/profiles within it, I wish to know if I should simply disable it or keep it on and then tweak the EQ (it's only available with DA enabled).

Ask any professional audio people, and they can easily tell USB-C audio is not as universal as the simple-yet-effective 3.5mm audio jack. Also, dongles wears out the USB-C out faster and there's no guarantee that you can find a real audio technology in a dongle.

Was using Sennheiser product before (PX 80) and being a fan of how the brand sounds. Just picked Momentum 4 and still mindblown by the sounds. But for the IEM, i think it's hard to not choose Chinese brands since they catch up with sound quality at competitive price, unless budget isn't a problem anymore.

YUKI93, 24 Apr 2023Definitely experienced such situation with my LG V50. Since... moreThey make dongles that sound leagues better than the LG V line and you aren't restricted to using LGs janky software to implement non-resampled audio quality. But unfortunately too many self-proclaimed ""audiophiles"" are completely ignorant of how audio processing works, hence your response to the comment that "flac and wav sound better" even though that is such a false statement that is only seen from beginners trying to act pompous. I don't want to go into the nitty gritty of audio containers but your 16bit 44.1hz mp3 is going to sound the same on the 16bit 44.1hz flac (surprise surprise).
When modern phone specs state 24bit 192hz audio that is only through the USBC port, as that is the max quality it supports for data output. Hence why phones like the Note 10+ are seen as sleeper daps since it supports 32bit processing.
When a phone has an audio jack, unless that phone manufacturer decided to put in a dedicated audio chip(the only people to do this were LG), it is ALWAYS going to be resampled by Android to a 16bit 48hz signal. And the process to bypass Android is a software development task that is not worth the time to develop(hence why LG went RIP).
That is why I always laugh when amateurs whine and make such statements like "I want a audio jack!" "Wired always sounds better!" because they are actually whining that they want audio technology to be worse than what it is currently at with the power of dongles and usbc processing.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2023Not to mention, audio quality is LEAGUES ahead.but phone manufacturers didnt care because form over function. they tried to make status symbol to compete with apple.. the market reality is so screwed up that almost everyone doesnt wanna upgrade.. some corporate shills would say like "audio jack is so ancient" thats because tim cook puts 100 year old photo when he announced the iphone 7.

Lots of people said the CCA C10 I used are amazing and while they're not bad, I found the bass often overwhelming, while the highs tend to get unpleasant at times. That's why stuff like graphs are important and for these headphones, they're quite easy to find online from various sources. That would show that these have recessed bass and mids, so highs can get a bit overbearing

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2023Showing some basic frequency response graphs is the bare mi... moreSetting aside the cost factor I mentioned before, I don't think frequency response charts are the "bare minimum" for audio reviews. I like the squiggly lines as much as the next guy but this isn't a graphics card review that can be done entirely with numbers without using any words. Text reviews have been the industry standard for audio for decades now and measurements are relatively new, at least in the headphone industry. Besides, these reviews aren't just subjective; there is a description of the audio when compared to a standard reference DF tuning. The descriptors of more or less bass, for example, are in comparison to this reference level, not personal preference. Of course I'd like to have frequency response graphs in there but in their absence this is the best I can currently offer.

I have a pair of IE200, IE300 and IE 80S. I still think the IE 80S are the best. They are far easier to handle and have an 'inside the head' effect. The 300 has exceptionally clear bass and detailed but not overemphasized highs but horribly veiled mids. The 200 is similar with less veil but without the great bass. The 300 has a far better lead. I can appreciate the 200 and 300 being more advanced tech but I think Sennheiser have missed the mark.

It does not matter how often you'll delete unfavorable comments, your review is just a bad photo of old man ear with some text around it, useless, written by someone who has no idea about audio at all... Please delete it! 😂😅

[deleted post]And why is that? All modern smartphones have a good enough DAC with non existent to low noise floor and plenty of power to drive high sensitivity low impedance gear such as the IE200
