Codedslam, 23 Apr 2023Really, Is The Headphone Jack Coming Back?Just so you know 3.5mm jack is still popular among audiophiles, forget phones with 3.5mm, we have dedicated high res player with 3.5. so it's not going anywhere.

As you can see, ie200 isn't diffused field at all. Not even close. It is a warm musical iem for people who want to relax and have a fatigue free listening. Something went terribly wrong somewhere.

      Not bad. Go for it.

It's good to see 3.5mm headphone review.

I wish those days may come back, however, it's upto us, the users to force companies.

There is a lot of good criticism here and it's good to see as it may help them in the future. My biggest problem with the GSM Arena headphone reviews is that the reviewer clearly hates bass. Maybe they just listen to concert hall classical music or something in their free time. The reality is... The number of people who actually need accurate reference headphones for production / mixing / mastering is way lower than the number of people who just want their music to sound good and have some presence. I have a pair of Sennheiser over the ear headphones that I have been using for those edge cases for over 15 years. HOWEVER, I do not listen to my music or watch my shows using that because it would be a HORRIBLE experience.

The author got it all confused. Almost all headphones and IEMs are tuned for the diffuse- field target. Free-field targets are very rare with some exception like V-Moda and a few models from Sony. Harman target is also derived from diffuse-field target.

Yeah, not liking the direction gsmarena is going. Just posting articles for clicks without much substance or research. 🙄

P.S. One more thing, IE200,300,600 and 900 from Sennheiser follow neither diffuse-field nor free-field target. They scoop-out the range from 3kHz to 7kHz depending on the model.

That is why my friends we need FR graphs.

For this kind of gadget, it's best to experience on phones with built-in DAC like LG V-series flagships and ASUS ROG Phone 5. Also, audio file matters a lot as FLAC and WAV has far greater audio quality than MP3.

Very shallow review for normies which is weird because casual users don't typically use IEMs especially from a premium brand like Sennheiser. They should stick to those mainstream earbuds that come with phones.

But I think the same way, they have no expertise in this area and should just stop reviewing headphones.

Please don't review earphones if you CAN'T and keep reviewing phones only. There's not even frequencies chart let alone measurements of soundstage and imaging like other sites.
