What you did is just to disable them for the current user. Also, if OEM properly implemented Android, just disbaling app in Settings has the same effect, and there is no risk of disabling something which can completely break OS.

    Second, unlocking bootloader drastically weakens Android security because it disables verified boot.

        The moment I realised that most cool features of MIUI were only available on Chinese version, I knew right there n then that my next device would be Samsung.

              Optimised MIUI to use less system resources such as RAM etc, you see this all the time.

              The question is how much worse is it vs stock Android?

              It'd be nice if MIUI didn't kill apps all the time as well for high RAM devices.

                  Why don't you mention that 3rd party launches don't work with gestures? It's a significan't limitation.

                            I think they need a new UI from scratch as current MIUI is a scrap.

                              The best thing about MiUi is its stability. I am using X13Pro from about two months and never an app has crashed or any issues.

                              But Double tap (on home launcher) to lock screen and Screen off gestures (Music play, pause, forward) would make this OS perfection.

                                I used to like MIUI and Xiaomi as a brand. Now, they have changed for the worse. Their products pricing is not that aggressive anymore and so close to the pricing of their rivals like Samsung. They still offer a great hardware, but they still haven't up their game in software. You can get 3-4 years OS update from their main brand but their subsidiaries like Redmi and Poco are stuck to 1-2. To add insult to the wound, they shipped their latest smartphones (low-mid tier devices) with outdated OS which felt like you're just getting 1 OS update instead of 2.

I'... moreIt's not baseless, just because your phone has no bugs doesn't mean everyone else is wrong. I, personally used two Xiaomi devices and both of them had bugs and usability issues, worst of all was not getting notifications from apps and MIUI closing every app as soon as I minimised it, even after removing it from their battery management system, installed a custom rom and even battery life jumped to 7-8 hours screen on time from 5-6.

                                        My brother currently owns a good poco device from last year and his phone's updater app is bugged, won't download updates and won't even install from package installer, stuck on last year's March security patch. Bugged wifi hotspot and usb tethering, his friend has same device and this bug is present on his phone as well, bugged notifications as well, device will get randomly hot and etc etc.
