If it keeps the side-mounted fingerprint reader of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, then it’s a deal breaker for me. If it’s in-display, then I’m ready to preorder it.

If you observe the benchmarks, you'll find that the 7+ G2 is indeed better than the 888. Heck, it's one of the most powerful android chips on the planet.

SD 7+ G2 is an excellent chip.
It is FAR BETTER than Sd 888. 7+ G2 bests the 888 in all departments including CPU, GPU, performance, efficiency, ISP etc...

It also has DP input which samsung doesnt have (atleast i dont think they do yet). Only couple other manufactures offering DP support

Adreno inside 7+ gen 2 is so efficient and can sustain 99% of its perfomance easily, so even in midrange devices you will get good perfomance compare to those flagship phones which need Good cooling.

Zero, 25 Apr 2023Actually that 8 Gen1 made by Samsung is a walking disaster.... moreThe theoretical 7 Gen 2 (stripped down 8 Gen 1 made under Samsung's 4nm node) might end up be a masterclass of inefficiency due to its usage of first generation ARMv9 CPU cores combined with Samsung 4nm fab which is inferior compared to TSMC N4. It would perform better than the 7 Gen 1 but overall that's about it, alongside slightly less heat due to lower clocks
