The former is the US version of the Edge 40 Pro (with small tweaks), the latter is a new entry in the premium mid-range segment.

With what Google is doing with Android 14 (artificially blocking old apps even to sideload) I don't see any incentives to get versions of Android past 13.

    I really not using google back up apart from phone numbers.
    Backing up on google 30 to 50k of photos well thats really isnt my forte. It would be very costly and time consuming thats why i have my external HDD.
    And i photography a lot but not using key notes and anything else because who would read my memories right???
    Whe you tell someone story is way better than spending many hours or days to write it down and give ppeople to read.
    Most people of nowdays are bored to do that.
    They will not read something way too long just like some my comments here.

      Pure android experence like Nokia, Motorola, Nothing phone, Google, Sony etc can hadle exactly same tasks at exact speeds like Samsung with half of the ram.
      Samsung UI is best yes the best bloatware.
      If i let run all apps on backround on a brand new samsung phone and motorola phone for example. In case of samsung there will be twice as much apps which require twice as much disk space, ram and CPU and GPU.
      Calling an excessive fat (One UI) the best well you funny a lot.

        Soon no phone will have it.
        Anyone can buy a phone with higher storage up to 1TB for phones and 2TB for tablets.
        Dont know why you or anybody else stil needs SD slot if USF 4.0 or better in most flagships is way to go.

        By the way yes wireless cant stream play uncompressed audio format but wont be that long when this will be possible. All techs evolving. This will evolve too.

Hardware doesn’t matter if the software that you physically interact with every single day is the same old, fugly, slow, and unsafe unupdated software that you’ve been using year after year. Don’t defend a companies’ poor update policy just because your phone has little to no software and security updates, lol.

          Man you funny. Hardware matters a lot you can have even 10 years of updates on A54 for example but the phone wont last that long nor its hardware.
          Same goes for any other phone or brand.
          Even flagships could last 10 years but none keeps them that long because after tons of OS, Security and apps updates their hardware will not keep up and makes them slow and useless to use. 2-3 years for most devices is all you need. After 5 it will be nothing but garbage with value below 100 no matter the brand.
          Yes you cans till use that garbage but only for most basic task.
          Anything heavy like editing 8k or even 4k video or photos will be a too much for phone like that same can be aplied on several games. With few mor more than few updates you still using same OS with same things some just improved a little bit but past few years no major improvement happened to both Android or IOS. Only Harmony is different there is tons to improve since is the youngest of OS in terms of updates.

          And more and more people are indeed holding onto their phones, especially if they’re using real flagship phones, these days. I live in a very big city in the US and I’ve seen more people with iPhone 13s than I did 14s everywhere I went. When it comes to Samsung, I’ve seen more older models than newer ones, too. Man this is partialy truth but as for US or most europe countries most of those people got their phones on a carrier plans and to not pay big fines they have to keep them for 2-3 years. After that they will switch to something new. Or parents give their old phones to their childrens and buy a new phones for your selves. But beliee me most people swap their phones when they can. Old phones just can keep up with hardware.

          By the way for no reason my name been changed once i logged into my account it remained like this. Dont know how ut unable to change it. So yes its me and i am not promoting any crappy cell phone store. But feel free to insult as much as you want if you cant do anything better with your life then i am very sorry for you.


            Everything on paper is good, but did you ever heard about Motorola support? Last flagship moto edge 30 ultra still running android 12 with full of bug, expect pixel phone now nothing phone can update to android 14 beta. Really with this support who will buy Motorola.

              All I can say is, NO

              Moto no longer seeks loyalty and commitment with their customers....Edge 30 ultra 9 months after launch still running android 12, and customer support has no clue the release of android 13, at this day!

              Edge 40 will be no different and that matters. So if you wish to some sort of commitment choose other brand instead of Moto. And yes, software support matters a lot!
              BTW they never fixed any of the reported issues with the Edge 30 ultra so they don´t listen to their customers....

                I´m long Moto user but the current policy of zero updates makes me stay well away from them.
                If they want to be serious they have to support longer and be sericous with their customers.

                  theDangrrr, 09 May 2023Have you tried MIUI for Poco? Borderline reliable. Yeah MIUI is not amazing but at least you get some added features. I never found it as buggy as Motorola "stock ROM" what a load of rubbish that term is. Even Google wouldn't release Android that buggy.

                  Xiaomi support is better too.

You will still get app updates through the Play store and Android also delivers Google Play Services and driver updates through there too. That's what most people need.

                      Also, I believe you are not using your phone to take notes, write down stuffs or capture memories, as it is slower than your mind. Who wants to spend time to focus and capture photo while you can see it instantly with your eyes?
