Apple's Q1 saved by record iPhone sales

Tim Cook confirmed a March quarter record sales for the iPhone, all-time record for services.

By better, I mean legal.

According to CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners), the average selling price of an iphone dips in the 1st quarter of the following year. That has been the trend since 2015. This year has been an exception. The average selling price has rose to $1000. Obviously, there are incentives such as trade-ins and contracts but not only are more people buying iphones, they are willing to spend more than they have in the past.

That aside, people are spending more for older iphones or taking older hand me downs with less features vs. less expensive android phones with more features. I know some of these people and android phones aren't even a consideration when they need a new phone.

I can't imagine paying $899 for a phone without a 3.5mm audio jack with built-in Quad DAC, microSD card slot, 8K/30fps HDR10 video capability, AES stylus support, detachable Dual Screen case, USB-C 3.1 with wired video output for Screen+ Desktop Mode, and offline FM Radio. The V60 is still an absolute beast to own in 2023. There's still no other phone that can come close to its overall hardware packaging, including Sony.

I kind a want to buy PS5 but everytime when i'm close to buying one i just can't find games which i would want to play, so buying one is not worth it. It's funny how when i was into gaming me and my family didn't have money to buy games and consoles, now when i have money and could buy all the games i want and all the consoles, i don't care about gaming anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️

              Oledok, 06 May 2023Switched from s22 to iphone 14 pro max because i got tiered... moreOne of my friends switched from 300 euro phones to iphone SE that cost him like 700 euro to get smaller phone and used it half a year and bough S22 cause was fed up of IOS that he didnt learn fully and so on.

              There are more in my friends who have tried iphones and then move back on android and for all what ever reason. Actually one of my friends went on android cause iphone update brick his phone. Even tough he got new phone cause of insurance but he sold it and went on android cause of that.

Don't know about you, but me and most people don't want to steal people work. When i was young i had my pirating times too, but wouldn't do it anymore. I wouldn't want anyone to steal part of my paycheck either and think it's ok, pretty sure when you someday get out of school and maybe get work you don't want that either and you value others hard work.

                  Excellent performance by Apple, the iPhone continues to be the only relevant premium smartphone to in the market, all other manufacturers are struggling to make any sort of solid profit from their smartphones despite all their gimmicks.

                  The market clearly sees the iPhone as the only premium smartphone worth buying and rightly so as it is the only smartphone with a powerful ecosystem and proper security update support for enterprise usage too. 🙂

                    Oh and whilst your at it, go tell all the young aspiring developers and content creators to just give up now because some snidy cheap punk is going around telling everyone how rip of all their would be hard work….

You work on your mac - find an android app to share clipboard, need to synchronize stuff or use your phone as a webcam for the upcoming talk - find another app and regret you paid for it since it does not work. All that lead to gaveup and take that iphone is better in all of that for me. Even camera is better… 🤷

                          Models, Apple sold only 2 million less phones than Samsung, Samsung sales were down by whopping 13 million last q yoy. IPhone sales were up two million.

                          This might be the first year when Apple will be number 1 phone company even by the unit sales, if Samsung direction continue to be same what it was q1

                            If you read comments on this website you would think Apple would have been losing sales to android vendors and close up shop many moons ago. Lol

And google 4 years and oneplus 3 years. All the others are trash at supporting. Some do it like when they feel like it or only to premium but even then only for 1 or 2 years. And so on.

                                    Plus read my other comment scroll down a tiny bit and youll see why android is superior.

                                      I rather not use terms like majority of android users.
                                      We have no clue what so ever what majority of users want.
                                      There is no statistics about it and majority of android market is cheap android phones to something up to 350 euro

                                      Never mind that all phones are full of tricks and you maybe use 5% of these tricks your phone is able to do. Also there is still a large market for used phones that are even 5 years old or older. You think people who buy used phones hope updates from the phones ?
