thedeev1, 05 May 2023It is a pain in the ass to transfer files to any windows pc... moreiCloud on Windows works, I use OneDrive as well, you don’t need a PhD in Astrophysics to transfer files between an iPhone and a PC. Plus, there’s these “new” things called USB cables that allow data transfer. I have a Sony TV with Android and a LG with WebOS, I can cast videos to both of them without having an Apple TV. But sure, you somehow know better…

-Trix-, 05 May 2023Good try but cheapest iPhone also gets 5 year support. Unbelievable how wrong can you be. The "cheapest iPhone" costs $600 in most regions outside USA. Don't count iPhone models that are older and are still cheaper) For that money 5 OS updates aren't a big deal, because a lot of Android phone already have close to that level of support these days
Also the cheapest iPhone lacks several features that mainline iPhones have so what were you saying again ? Long support. Okay that's irrelevant on an SE when the phone comes with a tiny amount of everything else 🤡

And? It doesn't mean they wouldn't want new features if they would be available easily. I don't see how iPhone users are different? Except they can expect the new OS version because it's always been the thing and when it's available same day for everyone one install and it tells others did you already update to get these new features and then the same repeats.
Same in Android world, i have this new version, Oh ok it's not available for me, you? No don't see it, you? Nope not for me either. You understand the problem now? You don't want something you don't normally get either.

I willfully buy the phones that I like or prefer. There are phones with long support (Samsung, Google etc) but I still buy phones that I like, without caring about it's updates cycle. As long as it gets a couple of updates it's okay to me. Not that I paid $1500 for it (in that case I'll expect at least 4) but otherwise, a lack of long support is hardly a matter of concern for me. For iPhone users, it does matter because of the price they paid but for buyers that bought android for much lesser example $400 they are okay with 2) or at least I am

You are the one denying the truth. Admit it. Just go ask maybe thirty Android users about their 'android version'. Most of them either don't know or don't care. My phone runs on Android 11, not the latest but that's okay I'll just buy another phone. That's how most consumers are regardless of the phones they keep
(The opinions here aren't a reflection of all smartphone users)

Apple users always bragging about getting updates forget they they paid the flagship price for it. While comparing OS support with midrange to every level androids, they forget those are the phones that cost much less, and therefore to expect a lot out of it would be their fault

Stop repeating this same nonsense already and admit the truth, majority of smartphone users want their devices to learn new tricks even after years of usage, it's just a fact, who wouldn't want to get more value for their device which they paid lot of money.
Also one of the biggest reason for Android users to switch to iOS is long support. Every year it's more important because people keep their phones longer and longer before switching.

Apple almost outsold Samsung in Q1 which is something have never happened and haven't been even close to happen, just shows where the market is going.

-Trix-, 05 May 2023Not a stretch, very big majority of Android users never get... moreI've never had a phone that didn't get the amount of updates it was promised. I know some phones are like that, but very few. You can't say android users don't get updates because the phones they're using are outside support. I'll give you that apple has longer support, but android or iOS, you're getting the amount of updates promised. It costs more money to update android phones than iPhones because of the sheer number and variety of hardware.

Exactly, very very small while close to 80% (or is it over) of iPhone users have newest iOS version. I think that's one big reason why fewer buy Android flagship phones, people have had enough with the poor support from their OEMs
