I'm a "lagdroid" user in the US and even though I've been made fun of and mocked for my choice of handset, I still wouldn't use an iPhone even if Tim Cook himself gave me 49 billion dollars and a mansion. They're toys in my eyes. I know that Android is still pretty locked-down, but IMO my phone feels like an actual "pocket PC".

People here chase specs and go on about camera kings, but iphone users that don't like their camera mostly use Samsung as a reference point. Brands like Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo are never a part of the conversation because they basically don't exist to their knowledge.
Flagship phones from Android will never compete with Apple sales wise. The best they can do is sell a bunch of entry level and midrange phones. People are more comfortable spending smaller amounts on droid phones. When they want premium, they buy iphone.

Either way, by now everyone knows too many people buy iphones and the number needs to be lowered.
On the premium smartphone market, let's do it by having it being partially controlled by the government, and every manufacturer having a cap on the number of phones sold per year. Make it equal between the likes of Apple, Asus, Oppo, Xiaomi, Samsung and Sony. Promote mid-range and sustainable smartphone uses.

Anonymous, 05 May 2023App Store opens much slower than Play Store. No matter how ... moreAt least Apple rolls out their updates GLOBALLY. ON THE SAME DAY, HOUR, EVEN MINUTE. You get an iOS update in Antarctica at the exact same time you get that update in Detroit or Dortmund.
Android OEMs are beyond god-awful with that. Even the "best" company with the updates, Samsung, will roll out the update in one country quickly and then take TWO OR THREE MONTHS for the same update to arrive in, like, Brazil and Canada; and that's not even accounting for the abhorrent delay introduced by carriers!!

Even in China, Apple dominates market above $500. Same happens in Japan, Taiwan, UK, France, Germany and all developed nations.

when i go into a shop, then i see that most people looking at apple products are low-income or low-educated people. tjey spend their whole money for overpriced things they don't need because they never learned how to handle money.
"Apple, ooohhhh, he is rich boy, oooohhhhh, i will buy the latest model, oohhhh i am ghetto people yeeeaaahhhh"
you literally can see that at the end of each month there are waves of people going on shopping tours because that is the time when they get their salaries. they don't even care about what specs are features a phone has. they see apple and they run for it.that is also the case with other brands but apple really tops the list concerning ghetto customers.

I have a feeling the US base with moderate to high income are the sole group keeping iPhone sales alive. Mostly everyone I know in the US buys the latest iPhone the moment it comes out and always through US network carriers so they only pay an extra $20-40 more a month (and trade in the old phone) so the cost is nearly invisible to them. US mobile carriers make it criminally easy for Apple to sell phones, watches, tablets, and headphones through massive subsidization and payment plans. I don't think that's a fair way to do business when you hide the true costs with sneaky financing.

So, in single quarter Apple could make almost 100% more than than chinese OEMs make in 12 months. That does not even mention ipads and accessories, just money from selling iphones. Value also 83% of what samsung mobile makes in 12 months.
Still these OEMs brag about selling more devices than apple at some point of the year when over 85% of then do not even cost $350.
This is why Apple gives s*** to how many phones sold by samsung, bbk or xiaomi.
