A punch hole and bezel? C'mon, they do slightly better than that. Other than that, the specs are pretty reasonable.

Unfortunatelly, I don't care about 5 years of software support on a phone that isn't even gonna last 5 years.
I work at a store where I get to handle many phones on a daily basis, and Samsung's A series feels as cheap as possible. One day my colleague opened a customer's fresh, brand new A14 and the rear panel fell off of it. If you think that phone will last 5 years, you are dreaming.
Sure, that was just one incident, but even when the rear panel doesn't literally fall off of the phone, it feels like it could any time, they crackle and make weird noises. Not to mention, I have already seen an A12 with a swollen battery last year, I know it's cheap, but that's no excuse for it to be in such a dangerous state after only 2 years.

I'd wait for the HTC U23 Pro instead but damn that slower processor 😭 im hurt because HTC is my favorite brand. I haven't had one of their phones since HTC One M8

I've been suspecting for years that Sony's mobile division is being sabotaged from within by it's own people with all those bad decisions.

I do hope that they will make a high-end version with the SnapDragon 8 Gen 2, as 7 Gen 1 is a mid-range cpu. SD 865 mops the floor with 7G1.
If they add the SD card slot I'm jumping boats from Samsung in a heartbeat!
I'm not going with Sony again because they don't seem to give a fly about it's customers outside Japan. Absolutely no marketing whatsoever, very bland UI , slow updates , very high prices , outdated design for years .

Let alone with more expensive variant Galaxy A54.
Such a shame even Samsung entry level gives more value than any chinese flagship.

kek, 07 May 2023I mean, call it old if its a 5 years old CPU, but SD 7 gen ... moreRyzen 1800X came out in 2017 and it's still fairly competent chip and it's 6 years old. Hell, even 1600X, a mid range model from that time is still great for gaming and even some compute work.
