Using latest gen is choice, not necessity.
1st phone : got for 50% of its original price 15 months later.
2nd phone: 56% of initial price 17 months later
3rd phone: 60% of initial price after 11 months
Current : 75% % of initial price after 7 months
Here, moto x30 ultra is now 33% lower than it was when available. G73 has lost near 40% on motorola site.

Gsmarena phone finder shows near 80 results for devices between 2019-2023 shorter than 15cm.
There was no lack of choice, there was lack of will to have any of them. Some of them are still for sale brand new.
Buying 16,4cm phone is choice. Even very lame one if based on camera strictly.

They had screen size that were small but they also had bezels on top and bottom so when something like 5.5 inch screen with bezels was as large as we now have something like 6.4 inch screen with no bezel to fit in that body of small screen.
My Nokia Lumia 520 was perfect size phone for 4 inch screen but with massive bezels that would of fit at least 5.5 inch screen in it for edge to edge screen.
There was no options in budget to middle class to get smaller screen. Only option was lux flagship only with that 6.1 inch screen with 14.6cm while Pixel that is cheaper is like 15.2cm or Zenfone that is 5.9 inch screen and is 14.6cm
budget phones 5 years ago already had 6 inch screens but enough bezel to be 15.9cm
Poco F5 with 6.67 inch screen is 16.1cm for comparison how much bezels and only 2mm taller gives you space for screen.
Iphone mini was like 800 euro when release that was like 100 less then standard 13 that is compact enough for 6.1 inch screen and 14.6cm and you had better camera and more battery too and probably better screen also and also there was SE that was more compact then standard 13 with 13.8cm with something like 600 euro price tag. These all still in too high price range for the majority of population as there are a lot more poor people then middle class and rich class combined
Screen size dont make the phone size what is the problem in the market where we only have large numbers for screen size and then the phones get tablets.
There us to be time when 7 inch was a tablet and i had it Asus Nexus 7 2013 20cm and now we already have close to 7 inch screen phones and actually have 7 inch screens on budget brands. And then come to game foldable phones that unfolded get extra big so where is the limit in what is a phone and what is a tablet ?

Anonymous, 09 May 2023Tall phone is much easier to hold than wide phone.For tall phones you buy your cloths but with wide phones you buy cloths for your taste as the wide phone fits in the pockets and tall phones wont so you need to consider you phone size for the cloth you buy to wear

With Samsung good lock customisation i can do whathever i want with one hand.that app saved me a ton of frustration while taking care of a new born.
