So will it be released with Snapdragon 8 gen 3 or 4???
Because if the phone will be released in year or 2 years from now with SD 8 gen 2 it will be DOA for ultra elite phone.

Of all things that could be criticized on this phone, all these lifeless losers could mock is the naming scheme. It's as if their beloved Mega Pro Plus Max Ultra Lite Fan Edition 5G 2023 isn't anything more ridiculous than this very streamlined naming scheme of Sony:
Pro - Xperia 1, but has proper professional features for "true" professionals
Pro-I - Xperia 1 but focuses mainly on camera, for professional camera shooters that truly know how to operate a camera beyond fake HDR multi-frame artificial processing of basically every single phone nowadays, sans the Xperias
The Roman Numerals after the name (I, II, III, IV, V,....) - indicates the generation of such a device, with I being the first generation, II for second generation, and so on and so forth

NeverPayOver1000eur, 16 May 2023Ok, now THIS is big news. (P.S. For anyone reading, I would... moreI am more than happy to inform you that the source inside this "Japanese" article is from Chinese SNS and most of them are "trust me bro" kind.
I know this tipster's account, he/she stated that 1 V would have a 1-inch main sensor, a 1/2.9 telephoto, an underscreen fingerprint sensor, a LTPO screen, 16GB RAM as default, headphone jack removed and a major re-design.
Now we all know what happened right? And, of course, you're gonna pay more than 1000 euros.

Early 2024? I wonder if Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 before the end of 2023. Nevertheless, it's about time the Pro-I gets a new successor since Sony has implemented 4K/120fps video recording support on ultrawide and telephoto cameras since the Mk4 1 and the Pro-I can only do 4K/120fps video on the primary wide camera.

Ok, now THIS is big news. (P.S. For anyone reading, I would trust the Japanese source)
The Sony Pro-i legitimately had the best camera I have ever experienced, with the worst phone attached to it I have ever experienced. The OLED screen + Snap 888 in a thin all metal form-factor was potentially the worst decision Sony has ever made.
I realise the phone was something of an experiment, but the eyewatering €1800 price tag left a sour taste in my and many other people's mouths given how many issues it had. My Pro-i shipped with a faulty screen which wasn't making proper contact with the glass, resulting in crushed blacks in the center of the OLED screen. It got worse very quickly over time due to the constant overheating which was exacerbating the problem. It was somehow managing to overheat in Finland outside in the middle of Winter. I got the phone replaced and they did improve the screen a lot (crushed blacks now barely on outside only). However, they (accidentally?) disabled my ultrawide camera sensor in the process and left glue residue under the 4 sides of my display. Instead of asking for another fix, I returned the phone and sadly took the Samsung S22U which thanks to the Exynos 2200, it became my least favourite phone very quickly.
If Sony can make a Pro-i version that has more sensor space (the original Pro-i used only about 60% of its full 1" sensor), incorporate a 3.5mm jack + MicroSDXC like the old Pro-i, give us front facing stereo speakers + give us something better than just 33W charging. I will sell my car to buy one.
The Pro-i legitimately had the best camera there was in terms of being a sheer joy to take photos with and how the final photo actually looked. Photos taken on it truly could trade punches with Sony's world class αlpha cameras. I didn't even care so much that the vlog screen I got was also faulty and cut out after only 30 seconds. I'm sure they've learned a lot since the Pro-i, but I won't even hold my breath for a completely mental price tag as high as €2400.
Let's see what you can do Sony!
