Cosmic Clan, 16 May 2023I was considering buying 1 V but I think I should wait?5iii was announced in february 2021 because pro-i came in october.
5v was not announced, so it means september.
Hard to imagine pro-i 2 one month after that.

Well, I wanted an Xperia 1 V, but nevermind, I'm waiting. Exmor T on all sensors is the kind of setup that will last years. I may not have to replace my phone for literally 5 years. That's the dream.

            Only 8g4 goes 3nm.

Anders, 16 May 2023If the 1 mark V costs €1,400 then this will be at least €1,... moreIf pro-i was €2000, obviously cannot be €1800.
The dual layer tech alone increases price by significant margin.
Add this to new SoC, ufs4.0, ddr5x ram, victus 2 and 5000mAh to previous pro-i.

YUKI93, 16 May 2023Early 2024? I wonder if Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon... moreI don't Sony will have enough time to rework the photo processing algorithm for 8 Gen 3. Also, we have no idea if the 8 Gen 3 will be as thermal efficient as the current 8 Gen 2. I'm worried that we might end up with the shadows of 888 again for the 8 Gen 3.

I always see people who owns Samsung and Apple phone keep on trading in every year or two despite the long software update policy.

I get their night shots aren't the best (despite the solid upgrade) but I will always prefer natural shots vs blotches of color.

Xperiafan5, 16 May 2023It's 3 years. Stop spreading false info. That's 3 years of security updates, the OS updates only go up to 2 years.

                            damn. it's gonna be insane

Anonymous, 16 May 20236,9" screen. 1v is 6.5" and 5v is 6.1".... moreI buy every high end Sony Xperia. So the 1 V (khaki green) will replace my 1 IV. The Pro series is too expensive because for me the sound is more important than photo (and Japanese company). But if the Pro-II has a screen bigger than 6.5", I buy it. Are you sure?

I was hesitant to purchase it but sadly the 888 was a nogo. 'Glad' to be on S23U right no even though in Europe, there isn't much choice left in the high end.

And since I don't want an iPhone ... Perhaps later when there isn't a notch anymore 🌞

They should increase their camera software development budget for this model. It would be sad to see it making lworse photos than equivalent Sammy/iPhones in most situations like the original Pro-I

                                        6,9" screen.

                                        1v is 6.5" and 5v is 6.1".
So with 6,9" so its size difference to 1 is same between 1 and 5.
                                        This would make it 17,4cm x 7,5cm
