It's already overpriced like hell, it doesn't cost them half much that money to make it actually, and you can't argument about R&D costs because there is barely any, al they had to do is put a new sensor, new amplifier for speakers and fix a heating issues, that wasn't much work and shouldn't even need those "upgrades" in the first place, last generation should had all tha better speakers, and better cooling.

But since we don't see the 5 iv or 5 v launched on the same date as 1 iv and 1 v, it seems that this rumour of this new Xperia Pro not being launched this year does make a lot of sense.

For comparison, Google gives ~3 years of software and 5 years security.
Samsung gives 4 years software and 5 years security.
Apple gives approximately 5-6 years of software+security (they are mostly combined)

If you do not like Sony mobiles then buy something else, maibe something bulky like Samsung Galaxy Z fold.

Xperia Pro doesn't follows smartphone 1 year timeline release schedule.
It seems to me that device is a "project" meant to induce certain collaboration between Camera team & Mobile team. Sony is probably aware that the professional DLSR camera market wont grow that much anymore, and that they need to spear head their way into mobile with something really good and outstanding.
