Daemon Targaryen, 18 May 2023This is HTC licensing their name to an Indian company like ... moreNope. The U series is actually made by HTC.
The latest Wildfire devices are the ones they license out to different OEMs.

LOL. Snapdragon 7 gen 1? That Samsung fabbed chip nobody wanted? Poor HTC.

      1 generation old chipset... Why?

Oh boy, we see again that crappy 2 MP useless camera. They should have skipped that, and put a 12 MP Ultrawide camera instead of that 8 MP one.
If they should have done this, less people would complain of its price tag I guess.

Why is there something always wrong with a phone? In this one everything is good, camera, OIS, microSD, headphone jack, but ruined by 7 gen 1? Why not just put 7+ gen 2? So frustrating

AnonD-1078988, 18 May 2023The second one. It's only an HTC by name just like nokia. Not true. Only the wildfire brand is licensed. This is the real HTC

A physical fingerprint scanner on the Power button, microSD card support, 3.5mm audio jack, IP67 rating, and USB3, all for around $600? I'm still unsure about the SoC selection, but this is easily an upper-midrange Sony Xperia 1 for half the price. I hope this phone will sell globally outside Taiwan and is priced right.

Anonymous, 18 May 2023Both are trash. Samsung is the king now. Laggy and unstable... moreAnd the new Samsung is the software-locked spare parts king of the Android world.

What sort of scam is this?

Not bad at all, but nothing to get excited about either. Still, this is a much better phone than anything HMD has produced to date.

Sony has managed to fit a 5000 battery inside the much smaller xperia 5 and whoever created this phone settled for just 4600 to power a 6.7 display? This is not gonna go well. I hope battery tests prove me wrong.

Anonymous, 18 May 2023Qualcomm must be selling it for cheap. According to some Ch... moreIt did. Recent Snapdragon chips with Samsung process (888, 888+, 8G1, 7G1) all have severe overheating issues, and since 7G1 isn't a flagship chipset to begin with, that's why you only see OPPO Reno8 Pro and Xiaomi Civi2 use it before, and those phones are forgotten pretty quickly.

I think it's a lil expensive, but i still do like it, i still have the HTC one max with full box at home it was a really good phone

They're trying to make a come back step by step maybe à La Nokia style

Specs on paper looks good. A little bit expensive. At around 400, would be great.
