TikTok empowers people? What a joke. The app is freaking slavery and brainwashing. It should be banned worldwide. Every single parent should be celebrating that their kid isn't going to be rotting away on that app. Enough kids have ruined themselves, even killed themselves because of it.
I also love how ironic it is when China bans everything in the US but they cry when the US bans ONE of their extremely egregious products.

Facts Montana give is facts! Another chinese company witch hunt...we should start banning US companies as well. For example Facebook sells their customer data and the government just gives an small slap on the wrist....sure they do an big theatre hearing before that and after the hearing everythings fine.

I know people who traveled there for work dozens of times. I know chinese people. China is not what you portrayed to be. Different? Yes. But not what you saying or how majority think they are. Compared to your country, they really care in these last decades of their people. Majority of them are agreed with these measures and they think that the Western societies are chaotic, a jungle. Tiktok in the West is not a problem because of the app itself, but because people without judgement/morality are posting a lot of trivial things. That's the core of "free" (soon own nothing and eat bugs) nowadays and not the app problem.

Try to live in China for couple of months and then come here to comment about moral and honesty. I'm not saying the west is a heaven like place but c'mon guys... you don't have a slighltlest idea what is China. Why? Because they control all information in their cointry. How is that better then our western world? It's not the same if our allies are spying on us as with western political enemies Russia and China. They don't have a western software in their homeland so what's the problem? Why is such a bad thing if west wants the same thing? What the actual hell guys!?
I know the States have plenty of low points in their history, but what do you actually know about China? Only what their country wants you to know.

According to them data harvesting is good with a US company but bad for a Chinese one. Be consistent

So, the lawmakers of this state seem not to be overly tech savvy. Otherwise they would be aware of the fact that anybody inteding to install TikTok would just need to cross the state border upon which Google PlayStore would geolocalize it as "outside of Minnesota" and enable the installation of TikTok.
Alternatively, anybody inside Minnesota could just sideload the apk of TikTok and have fun.
