Looking welcome Canon and Samsung partnership. I think it would be best what we would get from it.

      I'll be honest - I would be far more excited if a smartphone manufacturer did a collab with Fuji to bring their film-sim presets onto their phones.

              Don't get too excited guys. This might not be related to improving image quality at all. It might not even be something like we have seen right now. Canon as a company usually is very reluctant to give up control (their printers, ink, not allowing other 3rd party manufacturers to produce RF mount AF lenses). Bringing in a smartphone company with equal or more 'power' would make them go bonkers.

                        i think is too late for any camera maker brand to do this, Canon or Nikon should have done this 5 years ago when they are struggling and start losing market for smartphones.

                        Anyway, what they would do now? Since smartphone camera sensors are made by Sony and Samsung or Omnivision.

                        Dont expect nothing from them, even Kodak made a phone and even with their photo expertise didnt sell and is low quality.

                            Honor is finally in the big boys league with Magic 5 Pro, camera samples are very very nice. They can only partner up purely for marketing's sake, they already have the quality.
                            Realme, on the other hand, needs something flashy with its brand name. Outside Asia very unfamiliar brand for westerners. And a touch of know-how from Canon wouldn't hurt them.

                              Sony still has their collaboration with Zeiss ongoing to this day, but it does beg an interesting question on which smartphone brand will take Canon on board. My only possibility right now is either Huawei or Honor. Huawei lost their Leica partnership to Xiaomi, so it's a good opportunity to have a second round with Canon. Also, Honor used to be Huawei's sub-brand, so it gives Honor a chance to be in the same place as its former parent brand if Huawei aren't interested with the partnership in the first place or the deal failed to materialize.

                                That's collaboration name sounds good ngl. If only that would happen.

                                    Instead of partnership like Leica &co, maybe they should make some sensors for phones, or entire system for them.
                                    I bet Chinese will be more than happy to partner with neighbor Japan due to more similarities between them and closeness.

                                        Maybe they could make a smartphone camera that does not overprocess and oversaturate all the pictures? If I want a filter, I‘ll apply it afterwards.
