World would benefit greatly if these OEMs just use stock android. OEMs can just put their custom apps preinstalled into stock android in their respective devices. For example, Sony and Motorola put own apps into an essentially stock android UI. This would allow android to be more efficient and also reduce cost

The prices have gone rampant on mobile phones far too long. How much more can normal people accept this? Mobile phone manufactures are reporting record results all the time, so clearly, there is no need for this new price hikes every year. This is all about being a greedy corp.

Honor Magic 5 Pro is a much better option if you want a Samsung/Google/Pixel alternative in this range. I used one for two weeks and was very impressed.

and yes MiUi is horrible compared to stock android. if they would release the kernel sources would switch to custom rom in the same minute.
