Anton-, 30 May 2023everyone wants an iphoneNo I don't. I went with the S23 because of 2 problems they fixed. Battery life and finally a snapdragon chip. I'm not hating on Apple either but I just prefer android, so I went for quality and not some chinese junk that doesn't even last 2 years. People like me who buy premium phones like to keep it for a couple of years.

Are you serious with this? Budget phone sales are falling because world situation, you know we have this thing called high inflation. People who don’t have much money are buying different things now than new phones, like food for example. People who buy flagship phones have more money so this situation is not that bad for them and they can keep buying new phones if they want and yes because majority of flagship phones user own iPhone, iPhone sales keep staying high.
People couldn’t care less about microSD or headphone jack

rizki1, 30 May 2023people just want a brand name, it's sad to see that no... moreActually I think this shows that people do want headphone jack, MicroSD etc. That was the main reason for buying a midrange or budget phone but since fewer and fewer "cheaper" phones have those things there's basically no reason to get one and instead you might as well get a flagship.
This is why imo, flagship sales are increasing whereas budget phone sales are falling. And this particularly benefits iPhone, as these sales show. I want microSD and headphone jack, but if it gets to a stage where literally no phones offer these things then I would probably switch from Android to iPhone.
The only real benefit of Android over iPhone was it offered things that iPhone didn't, but if that's not going to be the case anymore, then I'll switch to iPhone for the better security and longer software support

my friends bought an Galaxy S23 Ultra earlier this year for the sake of using it concerts... I don't know if it's zooming capabilities is what drives these sales but mildy interesting nonetheless. and I'm not just talking about my friends a lot people are posting their S23 Ultra's zooming features when they where on concerts.

people just want a brand name, it's sad to see that no one cares anymore for phones that have microSD, 3.5mm jack.. have a charger in the box etc.
if a brand that still provides a charger in the box is likely to also eliminate it. Because in reality people don't care.

1. It's based of of MSRP, not the price people payed
2. It's 90%+ the companys that bought the 500+ tier (but again, nobody will split the results by company/private buy)

Smartphone comparisons are tough to wrap your head around.
Apple Vs. Android is truly apples to oranges.
Real TMI, too much to conclude.
iPhones, Apples don't change much, and when they do,.. it works..pretty good.
Android has a different philosophy, put out innovation, and we'll fix it along the way.
I won't participate in Apple's ecosystem, elitists made them too political.
When I see apple products in a movie, I know Apple put them there,
and you see an Android, and it's vanilla, nameless.

This rating is flawed. We all know by now that Canalys doesn't consider global sales. Many big markets are absent from their ratings.
