Except it does. Higher bitrate = more information = better quality.

Your analogy doesn't work since not only does Sony have a higher bitrate, but it also has a higher frame rate using the same codec and with the same resolution.

Except Bitrate does guarantee higher video quality, especially when the other factors are the same such as codec, resolution, and fps (which Sony beats Xiaomi in). There is literally more information to work with, what part of this do you struggle to comprehend?

More bitrate = higher depth of information for video and audio.

Cope harder since Sony hasn't failed, they are still running and found a strategy that worked for them. They don't need to sell a high number of units

The downside to a higher bitrate is usability since it takes a lot of storage. Sony's Xperia 1V is recording about 1GB/min for its 4K@60 video, there is a lot of information to work with. Sony's apps capture with a high bitrate since they are meant for people who can edit videos, it's for their niche audience.

Just because you don't know how to use the video properly, doesn't mean it's bad quality.

    In my country, the Xperia 1 Mk5 costs the same as the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the same 256GB internal storage. While the Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB is about $260 cheaper than the Xperia, it still is not and never has been my favourite phone of 2023. The Xperia 1 Mk5 is undoubtedly my next new phone, especially for a first-timer who never owned a Sony phone.

          While dropping frames. When you record 4K@60, are you intending to record at 4K@60 or 4K@45?

          The new Xperia can also go that long, so what's ur point?

                    It is using low bitrates, this means less effort from hardware compared to the other doing 4K@60 with 60fps and triple bitrate while using eye AF and real time tracking , two things that increase stress on SoC.

                      I do not see anyone with knowledge of videography say xiaomi does good videos.

                      Low bitrate, poor frame control. Excess of sharpening, lens flare and too much iso at night that ruins texture.

                        It has been 2 years waiting. Bugs introduced with ios14, I have 16.4.1 and still here.
                        I want to know why 90% of RAM is used when no apps are open (I do not use icloud) and some apps crash out of nowhere.

                          €1400 = phone + wh-1000x m5 (that costs about €350).

                          Xiaominions are ofended. But not with fact mi 14 pro is €1400 with nothing but €20 charger.

                              So, 10 V not going for preorder at all?

                                Sony is overpriced and 60hz display is outdated. Needs 120hz OLED display and lower price.

                                        And, unlike Sony, others fix the bugs and faults.
