Flop's strategy is to devalue Nokia, so that microsoft can buy it on the cheap.

In relation to hardware, nokia is still the number stable to invest in, history has proved it many times.

from the 3310's to the 6310's,6230i, N97, even the lumia's of today have that asthetic nokia touch.

What they should of done is throw symbian 3.0 in a lumia with current hardware spec's and focus their attention on matching Apple for marketing, building on top of their app store. I believe it would of been easier to morph live tiles and most of the GUI into symbian at a fraction of the cost and time.

Although many feel samsung are in a strong position, i beg to differ, the fact that they need to have a whole catalogue of android devices, just to outsell apple who again i repeat are effectively just a marketing company at heart. In the phone industry there have only been two real innovators, motorola and Nokia and it's a shame that nokia will follow motorla's fate.

I can't believe I am provoked to write it:
      - For Android fans that dreamed Nokia + Android: Not gonna happen. Unless Elop stepped down as CEO. Despite many theorists' belief that Elop destroyed Nokia
      http://communities-dominate.blogs.com/brands/2013/04/nokia-disaster-told-in-single-pictures-number-10-greatest-destruction-in-any-global-market-leader-el.html
Seeing the article here, Elop was simply saying "I save Nokia, my Lumia save Nokia, I am Nokia's saint". His faith on Windows Phone is more than religion. So forget it!
      - Still, Android fans: With so many great handsets already around, even some offered duality like Padfone or Note 10.1 stop cringing on Nokia + Android, it won't happen and Android ecosystem is already too large that it can actually ignore Nokia completely.
      - Windows Phone fans: Yes, Lumias are great phone, yes pureview technology is so far unbeatable, but no, I won't use one.
      - Die Hard Nokia fans: Good luck with your WP, if you missed the old Meego, try Jolla's Sailfish OS, I heard it will be launched soon
      - Die hard Nokia cringing for Android: AGAIN, not gonna happen. Sad to say, but live on with it, you might want to try other brand, they might not have perfect external build quality as you may found in durable Nokia phones, but really, some of them are really good and quite durable. I use my old ZTE Blade for 3 years now (and still do) and it still runs well despite its dated spec.

AnonD-26572, 18 Apr 2013At least they don't have an MD that is willingly comitting ... moreit doesn't matter how they were sacked, Nokia's or Motorola's, they just were...which phone would be expensive? A Nokia with Android, or a Samsung/LG/Sony(well Sony not:))/Htc + Android, not to mention all the army -Huawei/ZTE/micromax/asus/lenovo and you get the picture, I don't have all day:)...? Who would pay for the exact specs and OS more?while Nokia I don't know what would do with its maps/apps and all the competing services. I don't know why people see things so simple, Nokia + Android = Love and cash would pour in, well my opinion is Sony/HTC and LG have more qualitative and attractive products than samy does but they struggle. If there is one thing I hate more is monopoly and there's a good thing that new OS's are coming, maybe Nokia will adopt one, who knows?I like choise:). And who lied to you that BB is doing well?...

Flop has achieved one thing he wanted. Nokia are certainly standing out from the crowd. Unfortunately for all the wrong reasons and at a great cost to everyone involved! It is about time he came down off his cloud, admitted he made a mistake and started making devices running platforms in addition to Windows. Even Blackberry have learn't that lesson.

Seriously, I used to wonder the kind of dense people operating up there at Nokia,I mean what exactly is the rational for Nokia's refusal to go the Android way, why throw your lot in with a risky venture instead of a sure and tested winner, I love Nokia, the quality is second to none, but until they start making Androids, I guess I'll give it a pass..

They way things are going Blackberry will be doing better than Nokia soon. If they are not already? Just walking around now I actually sse more people with BB devices than Nokia ones and the few Nokia I do see are mostly old Symbian devices. It is almost like watching two versions of the Titanic going down and wondering which one will finally go down completely first.
