It's coming next year for the princely sum of $3,499.

Sort by:

Skipping a ton of marketing material I failed to see anything innovative. Been there, seen that. All of it.

Except wearing a swim mask in public for 3.5k (5k in Europe?).

I'll wait for independent reviews before drawing any conclusions since this looks impressive in some ways, and really lackluster in others.

I recall buying it by the boatloads, importing them to Europe and crack them to work with the European Network. It was was revolutionary *because* it was so cheap. The first expensive iPhone was the iPhone 4 I believe, once they established themselves.

      Back then Apple was not a very big company and their pricing was often friendly. Rn they do the opposite. It may backfire in the long term. What made iPhone established was that it was relatively easy to own. This own is very technically advanced and also very few woukd own it. Lisa computer all over again Same mistake.

      They have to start by co training the costs. Make it established and only after jt will flyoff.

        Since it is priced beyond common Joe by huge margin, they can say anything they want, spatial computer, hanging laptop low hanging fruit etc....no one will come and pick fight ! I would only worry if this offered at $500 when everyone will seriously consider buying!

            Conception is made against consumers interested!

            Apple put M2 inside the helmet...it's an economical choice against technical.
            When applications will evolve and will become more power hungry, what will happen?
            You will need a more powerfull soc and more Ram...
            You will but the new Apple Vision Pro 2 for 3999 dollars.

            Technical choice was to put motherboard with M2 inside an external module.
            AT home, you link your Apple Vision Pro to a MacBook or an iPad Pro...with standard USB 3 cable that provides energy and signal (MFI is nothing more than a tax against other companies and customers).
            If you need mobility, you have a rack designed to support both the battery module and the motherboard module.
            Only advantages to customers :
            - if you use your vision Pro only at home, you don't need to pays for a M2 you already have in your MacBook or your iPad
            - if you need mobility, when M2 become to slow because of New applications, you will buy a New motherboard module for 500 dollars Instead of buying a new Apple Vision for 3999!
            - device will be lighter for your cervical vertebra
            - there will give less heat on your head.

            But Apple is Apple...why allows people to upgrade their devices when we can sell a new one instead and earn more money!
            It's like lacks of MicroSD on iPad to increase storage, welded Ram and storage on MacBook, lightning, MFI...

                      3500? Before anyone even cries about pixel density or micro led when it's 2 postage stamp sized ones you can get wrecked.
                      Sure it's got a number of good sensors and technologies but the only reason it costs that much is because they can get away with greed like that because their fans defend it. Plain and simple

                            These are gonna sell like hotcakes. Yes, even at $3500. When Apple puts their effort into making something, they make sure the user experience is gonna be amazing and superior to others by a long shot, save for the locked down nature of it.

                            This is exciting, innovative technology. I'd much rather pony up massive money for this groundbreaking AR headset than give my money to Meta, the evil data thieves (they broke data protection laws) who ripped the soul out of Oculus.

                            Meta wants the world to become the metaverse, a dystopian future controlled by one megacorporation. On the other hand, the Vision Pro from Apple more complements the human life (in a good way in that Apple paid attention to the human aspect of it) by taking inspiration from the best of its other products.

                            Although if I really wanted VR, I'd rather pay a lot less and get the Valve Index or HTC vive. But if I had unlimited money, I'd definitely choose this instead.

                              Based on every tech people who had chance to test it says it's far ahead compared to anything else in the market.

                              Which was expected.

Look at the tech specs and the features that this device has and see how it's 10% of the Meta Quest Pro and it's 3 times the price.

                                You literally just described what I said. Apple is all about the marketing so people choose to ignore the specs and focus on the "reactions" of the people

                                  The PSVR2 gives me at least controllers with vibration motor, and works no matter where I hold the controller. This thing works only when you move your fingers slowly and the cameras can see them. Try to play with it!
                                  PSVR2 exists and works. This thing is far from being available and stable. Do not compare a showcase with actual products. Apple is just bragging with specs, but besides that there is nothing revolutionary.
                                  And before Vision Pro becomes availble, there will surely be other headsets with 4k per eye.

Anyone will tell you the tech on the Apple's headset is completely different league, meta quest does not even compare.
