> You also apparently just talk creepily through it with your family or take pictures of them while your children grow up never seeing half of your face. And then maybe when they are old enough they too can hide half of their face from the world.

The funny thing is, this is just a VR headset (a specced up) with Apple trying to sell it as an entirely social product based on the fact they have a lightweight headband wrapping HAHAHA. That is honestly hilarious when you think about it, there most brilliant engineering effort to make a VR headset design more accessible and become a family oriented and office oriented product was to simply say that they have a cushioned headband that is in white like usual.
Sorry Apple but even when you try and falsely project someones face onto the front it still looks like a VR headset with a 2 way mirror that we can creepily watch their eyes while they try and consume internet content. Make a real effort at making a more social design that obscures the face much less with a visored approach, it should cover more of the face but allow the screen to be more see through so that it doesn't look like big scuba goggles, it doesn't look like a chonky VR headset with a soft wrapping or it doesn't look like everything else that came before it. Simply put, soft wrapping around the head is NOT enough to make this the future of AR. There was no effort to change this from a VR headset design into a more socially fluent and interactive design. Their engineers did nothing to help make it more approachable when interacting with others and nothing to help make it a better product for engaging in events with. It's just a VR headset with a cushioned headwrap. My god Apple, can you be any more full of yourselves to put this little effort into the design while still pitching it as a revolution you expect people to shell out $3500 for.

For me it's an old world design, it's not fit for what Apple want it to be used for. It's a perfect design for watching movies and playing games if you intend to do it entirely yourself as VR style experience but moving around, at events like weddings, family events (like in the clip recording his children), as the future of having this in workplaces etc? It's not good at all. Imagine if there was a much more clear glass overlay that covered more of your face but was far more clear so your entire face could still be seen.
They should have made it like a full visor helmet because the way it covers your face is very impersonal and it looks like a big scuba diving goggles that even when smiling and being jovial feels distant from reality. Sadly for what Apple wanted to achieve they did not have the right design and did not show enough innovation in that area. It's a virtual reality, solo experience design, it's not the future of AR in the work space and family space design.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2023You asked, what is it ahead of the rest, I replied 4k micro... moreWell, if I was allowed to refresh your memory, you also wrote this: "Apple did it again, this will change everything eventually." But a 2x higher resolution is not what will "... change everything eventually". This is the normal course of hardware development. Or are you really saying withot Apple, nobody would going to upgrade the lenses to 4k? Really?
No, I am not "making stuff up". I just showed you that this achievement is not anything substantial.
Btw., the product has not been released yet. Are you sure Apple will be the first one to release lenses with 4k?
What about this: Meta would announces 8k resolution for 2026. Would that make them today the leading VR company?

Anonymous, 07 Jun 2023ladies and gentlemen, we introduce...the most expensive dev... moreNo one is free like you to use that device in home or office for more than 2 hour.
But yes if it is low.
I think they will improve that if they saw demand for that.
For now just stay happy with that.
Future looks different and this device looks good.

One of the best analysis I've seen on the side:) Kudos. It closely resonates with my lines of thought.
I was trying very hard to think of a practical mass application of this "Vision Pro" thing. I think it's gonna be less dramatic, because most people just don't care:) The primary customers are gonna be the YouTube reviewers, die-hard Apple fans, 3D Designers and niche professional and... the socially awkward "castaways".
Look, Meta fails miserably - they are loosing tons and tons of money mostly because of denial! Denying that we, as humans, need social interactions that are void of gadgets. Even the new generation, addicted to screens and gadgets, mostly uses the gadgets as an extension, not a replacement.
I'm not going to repeat what's in the article. In conclusion, I believe the majority of Apple Vision Pro customers, besides the YouTubers and fanboys, are going to be folks with impaired social skills and limited social interactions, depressive types, and adult industry consumers!
All in all, if "escape from reality", for one reason or another, is your motto - you're a potential customer!

It is an achievement? You don't like new advance hardware? Better throw your 1080p screens and stick to 480p brotha! Since when I said others can't do so? stop making stuff up.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 20234k-mirco led with 23million pixels per lensYou are saying just doubling the resolution of PSVR2 at 6 times higher cost is an achievement? This is literally specs bragging. You think others could not do it, too?
You do that only if you can't compete with the actual features of the product and tries to distract from that fact. This is what a few smartphone manufacturers had been doing years ago when they failed to innovate.

I think they are trying to pull it off at the right time. As the name Pro implies, this might be used as a work tool for some. Think about it - more and more people are finding ways to stay and work from home. For that you need a dedicated workspace in your home. Desk, monitors, peace and quiet. This isolates you and takes a lot less space if your work can be done on such a device... You can even do it in the toilet.
