You sound like you live under a rock and think that computers are very special products and very expensive. The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is a computer, and the price is $15.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2023This thing could be running 24K displays PER EYE at 240Hz w... moreLMFAO..any mention of Apple in this website makes all these obsessed haters froth in the mouth really. No need to read the article, experience the product first hand or have a logical opinion. The aim is to spread vile and hatred towards a company they don’t have any intention of buying a product from. It’s the same on every Apple related article here. It’s truly entertaining.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2023This thing could be running 24K displays PER EYE at 240Hz w... more"Spatial computer" spiel and it's locked to Apple's walled garden of limited curated apps, no support for CUDA, no support for e-gpus, no good support for AI generation or training of any kind, comically trash battery life, no dedicated verified support for "Actual" 3D dev/industrial/CAD/visualization software (Catia, ANSYS, heck even Maya/Max...) & absolutely no peep of a comment that it can be used at full power/compatibility/capacity with a Windows/Android/Linux based external workstation.
You want to know the biggest joke? This was framed as a consumer device for watching Disney++++ and other normie stuff but they purposefully did not even demo a proper gaming preview since Apple knows that this thing will get BTFO-d in games since their on-chip GPU is worthless when it comes to driving high refresh rates at high resolution in VR. Tomorrow they can hide behind the fig leaf when the most Apple-est fanboys buy this and find out that it struggles like a 1995 Windows desktop when running modern games, with saying, " Buh buh buh buhhhh we never told you that it was for gaming! P.S. you're holding it wrong."
But you do you, take a loan and buy this fruit toy for 3.5k+taxes. But I still have the right to point and laugh at sheep though.

3.5K and only 90hz? Anyone who buys this thing needs to be stuck into a mental institute, because they are absolutely insane.

PeterThePanda, 08 Jun 2023Hahahaha.
It's not even released yet and all the c-... moreIn addition the price Apple are demanding is already twice of its nearest competitor
European Interoperability Framework rules may, may have an effect also if Apple wants to sell in Europe.
Finally the sheer number of Patents filed by Apple.
5000, There are 5000 different ways all competitors headset (sorry Cranium not sets but tennis cement etc.) to Apple Vision Pro.
Apple headset will I guess go up
The market will compete to bring its price down. The proof of the pudding is will Apple in 2024 try to prevent a launch based on the basis of a patent it purports to hold

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2023So many "professor" talking here about whatever $... moreBoth refresh rate and pixel response time matters. The higher the refresh rate and the lower the pixel response time, the less lag there is. This focuses a lot on the AR aspect, so the total input lag and response time matters a lot to make a good experience.

Darth Caesium, 08 Jun 2023If the refresh rate was at 120Hz, and it had good enough ba... moreExactly, 120Hz is the new standard for VR devices. If Apple wants to charge premium prices, it has to deliver a premium experience. The resolution is great, but refresh rate isn't, and this device will be DOA.
