I'd prefer the latter. The main cam can always work as telephoto without any additional accessory, but for you need an extra accessory for extended battery life and wired headphones, easy as that.

And yes I absolutely hate glass backs, they are slippery no matter what you do. I have a Zenfone 8 with glass back and I can't use it without a back cover because it'd fall at-least twice a day. So I'm glad they ditched the glass and went with plastic that has some grip. Anybody buying a Zenfone is looking for a practical phone, not some gimmick. Glass serves no purpose at all. The brands have advertised the stupid for so long that it has become a norm. Are there wallets made of glass? No, because that's stupid idea. But somehow a phone without glass back is unimaginable, because brands want you to buy those slippery phones that will break in max 1 year and you have to buy their next model. Not saying cheap plastic is the way to go, but there are good plastic materials, vegan leathers that are much much better than glass.

Zenfone is not a premium brand, nor Asus is trying to be. They are catering to a niche market by making a practical phone that makes sense. If any other brand passes the checklist for me, I'd be happy to switch over.

    Asus for me has in paper the best phone for my liking, but as a ZF8 user I don 't think I'll be buying from them again. There are some not big but very annoying bugs that asus did not fix (like proximity sensor not working properly during whatsapp audios making speakerphone work when i put the phone in my ear, changing audio output from bt to earphone during phone calls, and so on). And to this day you cannot unlock the bootloader with their official tool because the server is down, so i cannot choose to change the os to something that might work.
    Sorry for asus. It would be the best phone for me if if it did not annoy me. I really hope you put more effort in the software department in the future.

            Looks good the fact that their selfie camera is on the side is perfect I hate center selfie cameras and the side finger print sensor awesome even the bezels look to have shrunk.

            But I guess if it's not an iPhone everyone here wants perfection 😂

              I use gestures on my Samsung phone and never have to worry about volume button placement.

Center camera selfie is everthing Left corn... moreReally coz samsung used to put theirs in the right hand corner, huawei flagships used to put theirs on left too. Also oppo and the x5 pro, one of the best and well built phones of last year has it in the left aswell. Also realme x2 pro had a centre punchhole and the reamle xt and the realme X had pop up camera so all screen display, just like the s23u and iphone 14 pro max, right? In the middle looks super cheap on most phones and actually gets in the way, far more unless its a pill cutout.

                  blue, 18 Jun 2023Nobody cares for Sony anymore.I'm having a bad experience with the Xperia 5Iv, it's the phone that overheats and then freezes in the game, not even on the Galaxy s10e did that happen. In terms of photos, it's nothing special for the price.

                            If this phone were in any way ergonomic it would be pretty close to perfect.
                            Also! Can we STOP putting the volume rocker above the power button 🤬
                            If I'm turning off my phone I'm placing it down and have already re-adjusted my hand.
                            If I'm adjusting volume I'm actively using the device and don't want to have to change my grip to reach the volume toggle.
                            This is real basic, why do so many phone manufacturers get basic things wrong??

At least stuffed to the corner so i would not have the ugly hole staring straight at me whenever i look at the screen. I am so disappointed almost all other phones have central ones. 😢

So for e.g. sport events on stadium is is pretty useful.
                                  From AI perspective - e.g. multiframe temporal denoising is very very helpful not only in smartphone market but also in PC games(raytracing).
                                  Taking night photos without tripod is also possible thanks to AI processing.
                                  So not all AI algorithms are crap.

Some phones are bigger or have better heat dissipation applied, where this problem does not occur. AFAIK it has been solved in 8 Gen 2.
