My warning to GSMarena and my friends:
Do not compare Windows Mobile / HTC phones with iphone. Its like comparing Federer/Nadal with Anna Kournikova.

Taking pictures thru mobiles was jus a passing fad which is no more taken up religiously. We rarely take any pictures nowadays. So the arguments based on camera, i.e., no flash etc, dont hold good.
Moreover, this phone is for a business user, not for teens / party-goers, who need to show-off their latest gadgets to friends. If tats ur aim, look for somethin else fancy like a razr or iphone which look cute but r utterly useless for business applications.
Hail WinMo! Hail HTC!

This phone is surely magnificent. All it needs is gud marketing, one that can outdo the iphone in the buzz generated.
No wi-fi is a sure turn-off. With Wi-fi proliferating everywhere, its surely disappointing especially for a person on the move. However, i dont mind my phone not havin flash.
I already own a HTC phone which satisfies my current needs. I'll wait for another 6 months or an year, either till HTC introduces similar phones with Win 7 or iphone gets gud quality apps or Android creates a flutter in the market. Until then, no more thoughts of buying a mobile!

Do we even know if this is coming out in the United States. It if isn't then that changes everything. This wouldn't be the first time that a good phone came out and it wasn't released in the states. I see GSM for connectivity. so that means verizon/sprint won't get it. So that means it has to go to AT&T or t-mobile. But I don't think that AT&T carries any/many HTC phones.
And can everyone stop with the iphone killer crap. I can't beleive that is still going. The voyager was suppose to kill the iphone. So was the dare, the vu, the instinct, the diamond, and omnia. the latest one right now are this one and the blackberry storm. One of these phones better be better because I'm annoyed of people saying "oh this phone's an iphone killer" and then it ends up sucking.

When i was getting ready to buy a iphone killer (HTC Touch Diamond)here arrives the "killer of the Killers" HTC Tocu HD seems to be much ahead of iphone based on curretn specs. The war for the top spot is increasingly becoming interesting & exciting. No doubt there will never be a clear winner but ultimate winner would be us the consumers for getting that high end gadgets (no more a mere mobile phone)!!! Kudos HTC... Waiting for other giants Samsung, Nokia, Sony Ericson etc to get pretty serious in this war of technology.

look you photo freaks, theres this thing called having a life and in that life people carry their cell with them everywhere, school, office..to dinner with the girl all thats needed is a cam that can take pics good enought to set as the desktop (19inch) wall and to just browse through on the lounge LCD and that "enought specs are 5mp with a xenon flash" if you need a camera so much for the job go buy a camera with the lens and focal and all, most of us here don take pics of birds flying in sky and building sites...dude when implementing a 5mp cam its pretty normal to have some kind of a flash! no you don agree? you gonna say its just a phone man, well its like a camera without a LCD or screen and when you go like wa??? i'll be like its a camera man you don need a screen to take pics, go old school man get that firm stuff going

For-- Stelio
You have to understand that you will newer be able to take quality pictures from a cell phone because :
1. You will have to have a lens like me for ex: I have a wide angle that is 600$ and a zoom that is 1800$- which gives quality that you will never be able to put on your phone
2.you will never be able to have on any phone a senzor like i have on my Canon 5D (36x24 mm) because that is half of the phone, and with the small sensors that fit in a phone you will have a lot of noise in your images and those ( by the way i saw some pictures on my friends iPhone that were loking wery good on tha actual phone, but when I downloaded them on the computer they looked HORRIBLE)

Amazing 4" screen, 5 megapixel camera (but I think isn't good like other HTC product), 3.5 mm headphone jack(yes, first for HTC), slim(12 mm), 3D TouchFLO, good hardware platform(528MHz CPU and 288MB RAM), and other standard high end mobile feature.
This phone has defeat Apple iPhone 3G in every area.
Congratulation for HTC. Great job. I'm waiting for this device.

Brenty2, 12 Sep 2008Because no one company will ever make a perfect phone for e... moreMaybe because they keep it for the next iteration? That way everyone won't have to go to an arm race with killer feature on one another and maxed things out too early that the next models will have no decisive factor that will become reason for users to upgrade.

Very very good by HTC.I think with Samsung Omnia a real contender to Iphone, especiall for people tjat also want to use the phone for business. Now really time fot GSMArena to c TEST and compare the 5MP autofocus CAMERA of HTC, with the LG, S-E and Nokia.

Yeah, why not a worldwie phone. Just like a radio. I suspect the providers who subsidiase these phone want control so people don't buy at discount and pay another provider.
About the camera flash. Yes it is important or to get decent pics you can only take them on sunny day light. Kind of useless. BUT the main reason is convergency. I don't want to carry, a camera, a pda a phone, a laptop a gps when I can have only one device.

I have owned many camera phones and the flash is not that important because most phones use led anyway so doesn't make much of a difference except at night. daylight shots make no difference whatsoever. it would of been nice but definitely not a deal breaker. This thing has so much on offer nothing can rival the best device to date. I am not a big fan of winmo... I prefer symbian but this I will definitely buy regardless how much it cost.

Interesting with people always complaining when a new incredible phone like this comes out. They try to find one thing they are missing and ignore all the amazing stuff that this phone has. In this case it seems to be the lack of a flash that some "trolls" are focusing on. More than 90% of the pictures you take will not need a flash anyway.
I guess you must try to find arguments like that when you are stuck to a 2 year subscription plan for a phone when HTC are coming with new devices 3 times are year that you can just dream of getting.

A lot of phones have powerful flashes. And considering the size this monster will have to be, it can't be for lack of space there ain't one on it.
As for the versions issue, I agree. I have to leave America to buy phones usually and I don't want to bring a $600 plus phone just to find out it has no prayer of working...
