Anonymous, 28 Jun 2023The convenience in wireless charging, at least as I see it ... moreAny reviewer whom put wireless charging as one of their top priorities needs to go get a psychiatric assessment. With Apple's lighting and everyone else's type, the cable is reversible and thus there no such things as "fiddling with the cable", if one need to fiddle to plug in a modern Type-C cable, one is either visually or mental handicapped.

Chaos X 1982, 27 Jun 2023Until the day Wireless charging can be done via Wifi or BT,... moreThe convenience in wireless charging, at least as I see it is that you have a wireless charger on your table plugged in all the time and you just put your phone there instead of fiddling with the cable. At least this is what I imagine while reading all the reviews saying the wireless charging is one of the reviewer's top priorities. Is it practical in any other way than what I described above? Not at all if you ask me. Note that I have never used a phone capable of charging wirelessly, but as the technology is at the moment, I can't see myself using it due to the slow charging speed.

Just mandate SD Slots and 3.5mm port while banning Wireless charging, they already mandate removable batteries. This will allow us to finally start seeing human usable phones again instead of all the gimmickry nonsenses for the past 5 years.

This is gonna be a dystopian when portless phones are becoming mainstream
Imagine this, you went to a computer and you want to data transfer or hard reformat on your phone but your phone doesn't have any ports, meaning you cannot data transfer directly from your PC anymore.

Sam N8 808 owner, 27 Jun 2023G8x is a 2019 phone, and anyways, wired is better than wire... moreHe's a troll, everyone knows it now. See how everyone refutes his lies. He is alone in what he wants... which is no options for users, all the control/profits to manufacturers. Just look at his last response to me:
" Still the same blabbering, but there was one thing to agree with - further discussion is fruitless. But not because of me.
And as for your idea - that's not needed. We have still phones that have all required features, but people don't buy them. That's the best answer to your idea. "
...further discussion is fruitless, because of him. He types a thousand words, but won't even read anyone elses. He think we have options in the market. We don't. He keeps blabbing on about the Xperia 1 V. The reason the masses buy phones is not based on merit (ie this phone is better/more practical), the true reason is marketing. With great marketing you can sell a mediocre phone at high prices and get volume sales. Without marketing a great phone won't make volume sales, and could end up in the discount segment months later (eg LG).
Sony is one of the best out there now, but they're extremely limited in location and quantity. I come from a nation with strong consumer protections, so if I order a "grey market" model, I am not protected. On top of that it is a risk to order anyway, if it never arrives or is DoA. And even if I took all that risk, we're talking about an over-priced phone, with an additional +20% to +30% mark-up from the grey market because there is a middle-man who wants to profit. It's just idiotic for me to spend over a thousand dollars on a phone with no warranty or consumer protection. As much as I would want that phone which has all those features, that's idiotic. Instead I make a different compromise, I either resort to "dongle life" by using USB-C to microSD reader, or USB-C to Headphone Jack. Or I downgrade to a slower / midrange phone which has those features. Or I stick to my old phone. Right now the best compromise, and I've been harping on this for 1.5 years is to get the Samsung A52-S. It comes with 3-Years Software Updates, great Support, Local Warranty, Very Affordable Price, and has a great mix of flagship/midrange specifications. Or go one step further, there's the Samsung xCover 6 Pro. But these high-end phones are going to feel slow once the QC 7g2+ (basically a rebadged QC 8g1+) becomes the mainstream standard, and the new QC 8g3 sets the bar for the flagship/luxury segment.

But if you genuinely have a workable concept that works without wires, even for the back end, then why not use youtube to showcase it? I'd be more than just interested.
Stanley Meyer's invention was shown to be unworkable as it needed a lot of electricity to break it into hydrogen and oxygen, which is... you guessed it, not available on a moving vehicle.
Tesla, I'm not sure. Available information is sketchy at best.
Fine... I'll give you that. If ever in the coming times we see wireless being the future, I'll remember this talk we had. This is as much as I can do for a person over internet.
But till then, can we ignore that today everything wireless has an underlying wired infrastructure?

Soon or later from all you know cables will be ditched.
If Nikolai tesla hasnt been murdered and robbed of his patents and ideas we would have that world for a very long time.
But those rhutheles uber evil corporations which would love to rob you from literary everything and soon we will have to pay even for air we breathing will make you pay and shred you from skin every time they can so they can survive but will ignore lowest of the low peasants, peons, beggars and slaves.
Same goes for Stanley Meyer and his invention of an engine which could propel a vehicle by 10 000 miles on a single liter of water.

I don't think wired charging will go away in the near future, at the very least in the EU. Its simply too uneffective and slow (kind of - looking at you, Apple and Samsung). Wireless charging should complement wired for its convenience, not replace it altogether.

Cables bring electricity to your home, by wireless charging, its only your end that's wireless.
Under any mobile phone tower, there're wired connections, its only your end that's wireless.
Even satellites have cables inside them, so do the cameras that shoot stuff, its only your end that's wireless.
My god. The number of 16 year olds on this site, who have least idea how the world works.
I wish to consider all my brothers, I wish to be polite, but how can I, seeing the ignorance?

blue, 26 Jun 2023Anything happens and say goodbye to data on microSD too. Pl... moreG8x is a 2019 phone, and anyways, wired is better than wireless, its been proven. Why are you conveniently silent on gamers who get delay in sounds?
I've had 9 microSD cards from 32GB to 512GB, 0 failed. Those 10 year warranties are there for a reason. To rebuke fake claims like yours.
The problem is most of you get the cheapest deal online, and it often turns out to be a fake card... Why don't you return it instantly on seeing the package? I've returned them when I had it.
You're ready to shell out double the dollars for a 1TB iPhone, but are saving money when getting microSD cards, why innocent being, why?
Plus, what you're metioning as minority use case is discussed extensively online.
No, we are the market savers. We're encouraging choice. You're the kind who forces people.
Let me explain: With a card slot, you can still choose not to use a card. With a 3.5mm jack, you can still choose to use wireless.
So, we're the advocates of choice. Unlike your kind, who fights against customer rights.
Give it up buddy, your arguments fall under the category of "False generalisation", "Misleading conclusions" and "logical fallacy".

its industries responsibility to put options
the pro models must uave all options installed, up to the users to use it or not
meanwhile ... the pro models have options removed ... and put premium pricing ... and brainwashing the customers that those options are useless ... and begin to do the same with mid-rangers and entry level phones
shame ... shame ... shame

If you remained stuck with LG G8, I understand your argument about quality of BT... but we are several years in the future. Your argument is invalid.
The only valid can be BT microphone, but that's such minority of use that it has no mainstream value.
It's people of your kind, who are damaging the market and development when you insist on technology that is long overdue.
