It was a noble idea, but where does it stop? I still wish that more phones had microSD slots.

If I didn't have most of my files on my 256GB Samsung Micro SD card when my Mi 11 Lite 5G's motherboard died, I'd have suffered a much bigger loss. Do you get it now or you want further explanation?

Don't get me started on the OTG solution that is way less convenient and more likely to be misplaced/lost/forgotten.

You know he merely responded to the commenter that claimed that best selling phones don't have the feature, right? So why are you attacking from the stem instead of the root? Bias or what? SMH.

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2023And how does this tie to phone being tiny or small ? My 6.... moreThe smallest Flagship now by volume is S23, and Sony Xperia 10 and 5 while bigger than S23, is still smaller than ZenFone 9 and 10 by volume. X5 and X10 has around same wide as ZenFone 9 and 10 but is longer. Both are less thick so is smaller by volume. If X5 and X10 series are not small phones then neither is ZenFone 8, 9 and 10.

My 6.67 inch screen phone also is 181g

We can make a long list of features each phone present but the fact is that is off topic on the size of the phone.

I basically talk about the phone size and your talking about what something have or dont have

Asus' first 2 generations of ZenFone and their Max series of ZenFone for 3rd and 4th Generation was popular for having Dedicated SD Slots, the Gen 3, 4 and 5's Hybrid Flagship did not sell as well, and most fans loved ZenFone 6 which is a Flagship with both 3.5mm and SD slots.
Asus only starts making small flagships with ZenFone 8, and most Asian fans greatly preferred the Flip variant. But it did't do well cos most fans already have either 6 or 7 Pro and most don't like SD888 due to overheating. The idea that the best thing about ZenFone is the small size is something that makes Asian Asus fan laughs, we had been using ZenFone before you people know the brand Asus exists, some of us even had been using the PadFone.
Back in Asus's Taiwan hometown ZenTalk forum and Facebook, majority of fans are asking for the return of dedicated SD slots, many also wants the Flip camera back. The no SD no 3.5mm gang are already served by Samsung and Apple. We want our Dedicated SD with 3.5mm combo back. Small or big, flip or not is secondary. But having a small phone with flip would be nice.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2023Show me one tiny phone from Sony Xperia past 3 years !!! 6... moreThe S23 in itself is a small phone, it weights around the same as ZenFone 10. And so does Xperia 5 and 10 series. The Xperia 5IV weights the same as ZF10 and is smaller by volume. And sure, the S23 has the smallest volume and is the lightest, but it also has the smallest battery and no 3.5mm port. Both Xperia 5 and 10 series have both SD card slots and 3.5mm ports.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2023If all phones in the market would be on the same price then... moreA series also have less storage and worse SOC.
Also, Samsung spends a lot more money to advertise their flagships compared to their A series. But sensible people still prefers the A series. And if price is that important we should ask Asus to stop making flagships and start making mid end phones using SD4Gen2 or Dimensity 7200.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2023What type of an argument is this ? If SD card is in the pho... moreIt's a sensible argument.
First, I don't intend to lose my phone and never had happened for the last decade. If you have such a hobby, sorry I don't share it.
Secondly, accusing others of data hoarding is rather nonsense anyway, thinking that anyone whom needs more storage than yourself is just a from of arrogant and foolish thinking.
I can save Chrome Downloads and Videos taken from my phone camera directlyI to SD cards, I can't do that with OTG drives.
My arguments are sound, it's yours that are weird.

If SD card is in the phone then that is in the phone. It dont matter that you hoarded data is on the phone internal storage or on the inside of the phone SD card. If you lose your phone then you lose the SD card with the phone and your hoarded data is easy to access by taking out the SD card from the phone.

You can plug USB stick to your phone and transfer your data on it and you dont need to turn off your phone to take out sim card slot where the SD card is for your phone to hoard your data as much as you want. It's just weird arguments with the SD card you make

6.0 inch screen or 6.1 inch screen dont say the body size of the phone.

                              Sony Xperia 1 V - 6.5 inch - 165 x 71 x 8.3 mm
                              Sony Xperia 10 V 6.1 inch - 155 x 68 x 8.3 mm
                              Sony Xperia 5 IV 6.1 inch - 156 x 67 x 8.2 mm
                              Sony Xperia 10 IV 6.0 inch - 153 x 67 x 8.3 mm

None of the Sony phones now are small and tiny in any shape or form how ever you look at them. S22/23 and iphone standard 14 are small phones with 6.1 inch screen to set a perspective

Samsung A series is like 2 times cheaper then there S series so of curse A series sells a lot more then S series and also A series have like 7 different models too so makes sense when there phones are in a price range of 200 to 500 while S series is like 800 to 1500

Also Samsung selling numbers are a lot bigger then Asus cause you basically can buy Samsung all over the world. While Asus dont sell every region and in every country in every region.

And then the fact that nobody know what is Asus compare to phones in the same price range like S class Samsung and standard iphone. People mostly know Asus for there laptops and desktop computer hardware.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2023No more extra lenses, phones look ugly with two and more lenses.I would agree that 1 lenses looks the best, 2 is not bad and too many lenses just looks bad. But when we come to conveniences, having UWA for party and close up and Telephoto for travel and taking shots of PPT in classrooms, all just add to the convenience.
It'd be good if we can just put a 1" sensor with 24mm F1.4 Multi Aspect Ratio lens, and use magnetic convertor lens to change FL, say a 0.6x, a 0.8x, a 3.5x, a 5x and a 2x Macro. Instead of using multiple sensors and lenses. But that's just a dream.

Also, having SD card slots is also a good way of NOT hoard data on our phones, cos we can just save data to it instead of phone internal storage, and change SD as needed.

blue, 01 Jul 2023Since when does a microSD with slot measure 0,3 mm?Great demonstration of one dimensional thinking. as expected.
