Future Google Tensor chips might be designed entirely in-house and not depend on Samsung

The tech giant is apparently working on partnering with TSMC instead.

I am more than happy to educate you that Intel 7 is just RENAMED Intel 10nm SuperFin.
They moved back to 14nm because the Intel 10nm's yield was lower than expected.

Nevertheless, Intel 10nm's density is roughly the same as of TSMC N7/N7P. So I said *nm is just an advertising terminology. Density and pitch are better parameters.

Will there be no Pixel 9? Or will it Reise Tensor G3?

Intel was moving to 10nm, they failed, had to go BACK to 14nm for their new chips, finally made 10nm chips years late but yields were so terrible and performance wasn't up to expectations... so went back to releasing new 14nm chips AGAIN, then basically skipped 10nm completely and jumped to 7nm. By that time they were so delayed everyone had surpassed them no matter which way you want to measure it.

Nothing has been confirmed here, just rumor, that also about something that might happen after 2 or maybe even 3 years.

TM, 09 Jul 2023Good, Samsung chips are junk.No wonder they got recycled to death like those never ending batches of Exshytnos 9610.

I doubt if Google has the ability to design SoCs and basebands. I bet they'd end up using external licensed basebands and IP cores directly from ARM. They only have experience in designing mobile coprocessors and that was a failure. So I'm rather skeptical.

Besides, considering that Google have been tightening control over Pixel phones(they added hardware anti-roll back, even Apple haven't done so), it may not be a good news in the end.
