Future Google Tensor chips might be designed entirely in-house and not depend on Samsung

08 July 2023
The tech giant is apparently working on partnering with TSMC instead.

Finally a useful Pixel phone that doesn't overheat and has reliable battery life? I am all for that.

Encouraging news. TSMC is the way to go.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2023I doubt. Phone business is too small part of google. I... moreHaving your own chip will let you do other things also. Like Apple have it's chip and doing tablets and laptops also. Google can go also that rout with there chromebook

tbh, lets hope Tensor processor has changed alot and better than "Smasnug Ezynos's Google chip"

              Good, Samsung chips are junk.

Then I will wait two more years because I want TSMC to make Tensor chips. That means Pixel 11 series and Pixel Fold 4. The Pixel Fold 4 should have stylus support by then. Just hope it doesn't get any larger and heavier.

                    I doubt.

Phone business is too small part of google. It isnot worth the money it is going to cost.
Even oppo has decided to drop useless marisilicon since it has made zero difference as ISP over snapdragon's spectra and also oppo was burning huge money on it.

This would definitely be a step in the right direction. Samsung is not on TSMC level
