13 July 2023
Reports claim that Samsung is experimenting with stacked batteries, which have a higher density and support faster charging but are more difficult to manufacture.

Bhaumik Shah, 14 Jul 2023I hope this rumor is false. 5000 mAH battery for a flags... morewell they have to make the batteries lightweight though, 230 grams is already heavy even without a case... plus actually the battery efficiency of the s23 ultra is actually very good even beating apple ip14pro

AnonD-1044551, 14 Jul 2023Ah I was scared for a second, thought I was the only one, w... moreThere is also the obvius option, when slow charging, to do it overnight, which in my personal experience is the worst you can do to a battery. That's why slow charging is a deal breaker to me, with 68W-180W charging on my phones, I just put them on the charger for 10-30 minutes before I'd go to sleep, unplug them, and I'm ready for the next day.

Lovely Platypus, 14 Jul 2023To be fair, Samsung 25 is still relatively fast.Compared to 10 year old phones yes it's super fast.

I hope this rumor is false.

5000 mAH battery for a flagship Like Galaxy S24 ultra is not at all enough .
No matter how good is the battery efficiency of the processer / RAM / Storage there is only so much battery you can save.
You need a bigger capacity at least for the ultra models which is meant to be for power users.

Anything less than 5800 mAH is not gonna add value ( especially with the new technology of stacked cells )

Currently enjoying an A73 ( bough recently at INR 37600 ~ $460 ) for the 8/256 model. It has an 5000 mAH battery , an amazingly sharp screen , dual stereo speakers and a large 6.7 inch screen. and it is so lightweight at 180 g along with very good cameras. The SD 778G is very fast and doesnt heat up the phone. Plus it has OS updates till 2026 and security updates till 2027. I do wish sometimes I had an S pen and the phone would be a bit wider to comfortably type with two hands ( which most of us do anyways with large screen flagships ) but I find much more value in this phone and will stick to it until Samsung gets its act together to design it even better and increase battery capacity to make it a 1.5 day phone at least on heavy usage.
          .

To be fair, Samsung 25 is still relatively fast.

Same battery tech that the Chinese phones have had for years?? Please Samsung stop lying.

Liu, 13 Jul 2023Did you read the article properly? They're talking abo... morealso want to add, the reason samsung doesn't go pursue fast charging like other company is because they have trauma with note 7 battery, hence the slow charging, they also use single-cell instead of dual cell battery like the others, don't know the reason about this though. But since samsung is very caution about this, the reason for 65w charging for them is thx to the battery stacking tech in the article which give a safe temp, etc for higher charging

Mind ... moreI believe Xiaomi/Oppo already have 100+ watt charging so this isn't new, eitherway it's still best to charge at low watts or if the devices is always gonna be plugged unless you are on the rush & on the go to keep the battery healthy.
