The Huawei P60 Pro uses both the ultrawide and the telephoto for its macro, and the main wide camera can also do it for certain pictures as well, thanks to its 10-step variable focal aperture, which covers f/1.4, f/1.6, f/1.8, f/2.0, f/2.2, f/2.5, f/2.8, f/3.2, f/3.5 and f/4.0. I'd say if you don't mind the difficulty with getting Google Play Services, or the lack of 5G (I wouldn't care really about that one), then absolutely go for it. Who knows, maybe the Huawei P70 Pro will be out and have even more features if your phone dies by that point.

Their problem is everything else. They use older or subpar parts compared to the competition. Putting them behind in display, speakers, camera, battery, etc. The main essentials.
And that's despite that they are saving millions not just on parts but also advertising, marketing, software, and releases.
Cause even their barebones software is still more buggy than average as well as typically less optimized camera software. And I don't mean sharpening.
Yet despite all that to add even more insult they charge way more than even apple or anyone else. And don't release most places, most people don't know they exist, and they have network band issues in places.
And then to make it even worse on top of all that their fans are the worst. Roaming every single related page, video, or article worse than even the apple ones used to be. Proclaiming Sony as perfect and gods that demolish the competition. Denying every single severe issue or lacking while trashing everything else. Then claiming it's everyone else starting the issues.
That's the problem with Sony. Not their design.

First commercial punch hole camera phone was Samsung Galaxy A8s in 2018, since then camera punch hole display becomes signature design of Samsung phone.
Phone with camera notch -> copying Apple.
Phone with camera hole -> copying Samsung.

Huawei going dead center on the notch would just waste usable screen area specially when viewing media. I personally switch off all notifications to lessen distractions and this implementation serves no purpose for me. Why would I need to keep touching the area with the cameras and sensors?
If Huawei is really keen on this, they could have kept the notch on the left and implement the dynamic notifications there, just like how they did it first with the Honor V20.

They always give the Mate flagship the best of the year since it comes later than the P series flagship. The Mate seems to offer more or newer specs than its months old cousin. The few deciding factors are the camera position, the corner or in the center, and if you want the bigger and pricier Mate over the smaller P.
