This is hilarious. Everyone always complains about punch holes or notches on the screen. Suddenly, Apple gives it a name and an animation (most of the animations being MORE black space on the screen), and now everyone wants it?

man everyone here is raging a war
brands copy software features from each other all the time, so its not a big deal and huawei isnt going to directly copy dynamic island, itll be huawei-fied.

I like reading the fight between, who invented notch and island first, like it does matter.....
Huawei is dead anyway outside China, doesn't matter how good the phone is, without google services its almost useless.

Somehow I agree with this statement, but soon Sony might follow suit regarding how the marketing strategy works these days (else an unexpected end like karma**)
Be it Apple or Samsung / Chinese oems they all have fears as tech marketers and as a result in one way or the other they copy from another to make sure they remain competitive.
But in all Apple and Samsung does it better by going extra miles to make things look new and more better at it.
For Apple it's like "let's waiting for the perfect time and we will be there with an upper hand". And it actually work for them.
For Samsung it's like "kill them all with one bullet" e.g the s23u fights Apple with software and android multi-tasking while it fights Chinese oems with Stylus and photography/videography races) and for this reason they are tempted to copy but with milk on top.

You are the joke of the year, my friend! Huawei introduced pill-shaped cutouts with the p40 and mate 40 series in 2020. Samsung did it even earlier in 2019 with the S10+. Because Crapple did it in 2022, it doesn't mean the others or copycats.
Just admit that you hate Huawei because Uncle Sam told you to do so. You don't need to search for silly arguments.

Then, the Mate comes in autumn with better specs and even a better cam that the photography-focused P series. This has always confused me... that's why I also think that one single flagship series is better

Apple Copy cats. Just like I mentioned in a different post. As long as Apple is not going for full screen displays (no notch, hole, pile) majority of smartphone manufacturers will do the same.

I really cant understand those people bragging for google services if installing Gblox app from Huawei store does same tricks as having android in their phone with latest updates and unlimited ones.
As long as you keep your phone and it will working it will get updated.
People of nowdays are tottaly unreal.

Awful, Absolutely AWFUL.
We really missed the multi screen design and retractable motorized camera that prefected the harmony of phone designs. There's nothing wrong with those features but this?
Why there is a speaker notch at the edge of the screen instead of the side frame? Why the pill-shaped notch?? Why Huawei is going backwards since they removed 5G, Leica and headphone jack on today and future phones??? Money????
